I had dysentary. It wasn't very romantic. Yes, it's beautiful. Yes, there's tons of culture. Yes, it's industrial tourism. I've been to Tirol in Oe. I like tirol - there's a ton of huts in the mountains to hike/bike/ski into, quite a few that would be suitable for familys. Industrial tourism? As is Macchu Picchu. I would recommend the Tirol AND a place like Florence (or Sienna or Assissi, which are smaller and quieter) or Venice. A little Sound of Music, a little Michelangelo. What's not to love?

One thing that's come out of this horse race is that the Democratic Party could flunk a urine test. This comes as no surprise, of course, to anyone from either party, although the GOP has been hogging the headlines for fucking up for a few years now. First the debacles in Michigan and Florida, which the Clinton camp is now trying to reverse. Now the Texas Cockup system; 2/3 primary, 1/3 caucus? Jebus, could you make it more ambiguous, delayed, complicated and confusing? And, coming up next, the superdelegate fiasco. What purpose, in what universe, do these birds in guilded cages serve? Our own Washington caucus system is a complete and utter waste of time and effort. Instead of taking advantage of a simple, but expensive primary, which our Secretary of State mandated, and which was, essentially, a complete waste of money, Washington State Democrats insisted on clinging to an archaic, confusing, multi-stage caucus system. I should know, I'm a delegate, so I get to go to a second caucus on April 5th, after the Democratic candidate will probably have been chosen. To what end? The Democrats at both the state and national level desperately need to get their flustered heads out of their yoga toned asses and streamline this system; by copying the GOPs MUCH simpler and foolproof system, for example. Or, even better, work towards getting rid of the delegate system altogether.

There may also be tolls on I90. You could help the traffic situation in your own small way by staying put.

Guess you didn't have as romantic a visit as I did. No surprise there. Dumbass.

The Marines just brought 7 puppies back from Eye-Rack. Not a PR stunt, oh no, nothing to do with tossing a puppy into a ditch.

Congratulations, BTW. You'll be in the rainy season in Costa Rica, but that just means a tropical thunderstorm every afternoon, lusher foliage, and more flowers. Someone mentioned Italy. Venice is a very romantic place, even though it smells kind of funny.

Ask your betrothed how she likes they way you smell after 4 days on the trail. Costa Rica, from north to south: Rincon de las Viejas National Park: day hikes only, nice lodges located outside the park in a rural setting. Incredible wildlife, swimming holes, waterfalls, boiling volcanic lake. Watch for snakes at night. Corcovado Tent Camp and National Park: Pristine 8 mile beach walk to the National Park Lodge. Anteaters, tapirs, rainforest, crodiles, monkeys. Monteverde Cloud Preserve. Best to backpack to the backcountry huts here to really experience the place. Probably not worth a day trip. Arenal: active volcano with a hotsprings right across the road so you can watch the lava at night. Chirripo: Hike C.R.s highest peak (13,000) and see both oceans at sunrise if there's not a low cloud layer, which there will be. There's a rustic lodge with bunks at 11,000 ft, and nice, inexpensive lodges at the base. You might want to fly in and out of Corcovado NP; it's a full day's drive from anywhere. I've got specific recommendations for lodges. PM if interested.

No showers = stinky honeymoon.

What if they had burned four puppies?

Peru would involve a brutal flight itinerary. Something to consider. Hawaii (Big Island for the lava/snorkeling/secluded beaches or Kauai for the Canyon and Na Pali Coast) or Costa Rica.

What about not overall healthcare, but just healthcare for kids? (and not force people onto the govt plan if they have another plan) The deal w/ kids is it's not their choice whether to get healthcare. My theory is a kid who is denied an education due to health problems will be a further burden to society later. Give a kid healthcare, or pay for him to rot in prison as an adult? Or do you have another way to encourage responsibility of the parents in only creating kids they can care for? I agree with you though that blanket welfare programs are bad news. One word: Medicare. We already have such a system. Why is it acceptable to most people (or would KKK prefer that we deny seniors health care by eliminating Medicare?) have single payer healthcare for old folks but not for kids? Is 65 some magic age where socialism suddenly becomes OK?

A few factors to consider: How much land travel hassles do you want to subject yourself to? Is she a country mouse or a city mouse? Would she be content or bored staying in one place. If she's from Florida, I'd say Macchu Picchu sounds more like your idea than hers. Go with hers or rue the day. Oh, and Costa Rica's nice.

Tragic. I'm off to the gym. Bye.

Whatever you say, DC.

Take a break from spray, DC. You're gettin too close to it. And while you're on that break, take a look in the mirror. Try climbing sometime. It's a good way to relax.

Two flat jokes in as many minutes. I tried, I cried, but I just could'nt put up with it any longer.

Even Rosie refused your advances? It's flat jokes like that that forced me to break it off with you.

What, those seven days and nights of thunder we shared were just physical? Maybe rbw1966 could give Colin some climbing tips....

Except the alleged eco-terrorists have a dragon. You know, to start the fires.

Right. Of course its not because she/he may not be into climbing and he/she may not WANT to climb. Time apart is just as, if not more, important as time together. Your post reminds me of a wedding rehearsal dinner I attended recently at a local restaurant where the honored couple seemed inseparable. At one point in the evening the female looked at her male counterpart and said "I am going to the restroom" and which point they both got up and walked away together. When I got up to go to the bathroom myself I saw her fiance hanging around outside the women's restroom. Chivalry or co-dependency? Kind of ridiculous to give relationship advice in the form of cliches you heard on Oprah to a couple that's been together for several decades, don't you think? The non-sequitor anecdote doesn't help your credibility much either, Dr. Phil.

Not if I'm in the crowd. I use the exact same stuff.

Except that Marylou never acted, all she did was successfully yank the chains of a couple of junk yard dogs, who sat up and begged for more on command like the little bitches they are. Dumbasses.

If you think I made that up I have the photo.
