  1. I have a Wind TR but I've not been good at updating it. I'm getting a pretty good collection of wind images and trying to figure out a niche to do it professionally. Most of the ones I take are just phone pics but that goes a long ways these days. Up till my lens gets all scratched up...
  2. Thanks. Thread Hijack... Another plus with all the downtime here is I'm finally getting around to organizing the last 10 years of photos. As well as the painstaking slow process of uploading them to various online albums. Maybe, if folks are interested, I'll post a link here once I get my wind pics uploaded to another online photo vault... It is, after all, "climbing related". Installing the Studly Circle Jerk Practice Pod Here are a few more from doing the same gig in Palm Springs, CA last month. Gearbox exchanges, that is. Not sure why, but I really like the first one below. Talk about a heavy load!
  3. I grew up in Northern Utah, so yeah, oh my hay-eck, I do ski. I'd like to check out Taos and other areas but I'm pretty limited as I only have a work truck. I already got rear-ended by some dumbass, uninsured local when I took the truck to ABQ. The irony that I get hit at a red light while taking the truck in for a repair estimate from when someone else smashed it prior to my arrival is a bad omen telling me not to wander too far from the farm. That, and we are usually on stand bye for the next day. Oh well, at least I still get paid either way. I think we may have actually worked 4 or 5 days since I got here at the beginning of the month... Why don't they install these damn things were it's not so windy? Here's a shot from work the other day... Rotor going back on.
  4. Bump... That time of year again. I will be looking for a couple of roomies to share my home a few minutes from Beacon Rock in the Gorge. I travel for work so I'm not around that much. Awesome views from every window. Half hour to Hood River area and 45 minutes to downtown PDX. $475/month, pets and one garage space negotiable. I should have it ready by mid to late March, once the current renters are out and I can get back there to deep clean it. I'm hoping to find a couple of like minded individuals (climbers/outdoor enthusiasts/green thumb types) or a young responsible couple. If I don't get room mates by the end of May, I might consider renting out the whole house. The house is 2500 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, both of the ones I'm renting out have a private deck, vaulted ceilings and skylights. It's located at the end of a quite culdesac with 13+ miles of paved trails, frisbee golf course, tennis and golfing out your doorstep. I do have kids (8 & 10 yrs) but they usually stay at my Mom's up the street and with their mom in Hood River when I'm on the road. They won't be around too much but they are great kids when they are around. Last Summer. Big Dipper over Mt Hamilton, summer Sosltice 2013. You can't see Beacon from my house proper, but thar she is a couple doors down. Just permanent wildlife preserve between the house and Beacon. Big heard of 30 or so elk that frequent the fence line of wildlife preserve. Rainbow, fall, 2014. Lightning over Mt Hamilton.
  5. Working out of Mountainair, NM, which is pretty much dead center of the state... A one motel po-dunk town on the verge of complete dilapidation. I guess the haunted motel "The Schafer Inn" is closed down since all the ghosts scared the tourons away. I did visit an old friend from AK. She lives in Naples, NM, which was quite the artsy, hippie, freak filled small mountain town. Not too far north of ABQ. The desert sure attracts the freaks... Takes one to know one.
  6. Getting a little stir crazy here smack dab in the middle of now where New Mexico. Three days off and counting due to high winds. Spray beats re-run movies and chasing toothless women across the desert, but not by much, according to the recent spray scene. I'll collect my group hug when I get home, I recon.
  7. Nor innocence, in a sense. In that case, deals off.
  8. Does this mean we get a group(ie) hug now? Wait, FW seems to be uncharacteristically absent.
  9. I'm faclempt. Thanks for setting me straight. Again. Really. Ok, maybe not really, but a little bit. Really... But, once again, I digress. I've never doubted your talents, I just don't think they are as supercilious as you present yourself to be. Just say'n. But I'm sure your OK with that and all. Carry on.
  10. Well, I guess I''l take all the credit anyway. Someday, maybe I can be as grandiose as some of the a for mentioned posters. I'm surprised you have time to post at all, with all that saving the world and all... That must be some strong coffee up there. ...
  11. Tvash, i wouldn't award urself such a nobel title. Perhaps you suffer from a superiority complex, stroked by your alter-egos in crime CCliffCClaven.commie?
  12. I've certainly been pushed around plenty. Usually cause I'm asking for it in one way or another. I don't buy into being bullied, however. I just enjoy the occasional bullying bullies. I didn't mention anyone in my last post? Someone feeling labeled? Seems over the years, you may have toned it down a bit and I've certainly tuned it out here even more so. In the end, I guess I'll just accept all the do credit I deserve, in that, perhaps my anti-bully campaign with a certain un-named uber poster finally paid off? We still have a long way to go but were off to a small start. Your welcome, fellow cc.community members, bullies, pantywaists-I want my mommy, sprayers.
  13. Bullies need buddies too. Just say'n...
  14. Since I am regularly the recipient of words like idiot, dumbass, dumbfuck, bafoon, etc., etc.--not to mention the constant attacks on my intellect and things like "you should move to Alabama"--it shouldn't surprise anyone that I return the favor from time to time. As for the more hateful and vulgar words that your friend TTK seems so fond of, yes, he crosses the line way too often--and it's not a line that's all that hard to see, Ivan. Again, I really don't mind most of the words you & yours call me or put in my mouth--and I'll give them right back--but there are a handful that cross the line. They aren't words I say or think, so yes, I do get upset when someone uses them to caricature me this way. You should tell him, as his friend, to exercise more self-control and to knock it off. point 1 Be the change you want to see in the world. if you don't like it, don't do it. simple. point 2 If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If the nature of spray offends you, don't frequent spray. simple also. these points are probably irrelevant as I suspect that you like these verbal attacks and rebuttals. I also suspect that you don't really care about "community" and care more about self serving ego boosting. just my theory as I have never met you. feel free to call me names though. see point 2 above.
  15. When I'm at work, uptower in a wind turbine, I use the same pooping method as for backcountry crapping... Pre-made "shit kits" (paper towels, TP, baggies, kitchen garbage bag and hand wipes)... Carefully place paper towell on ground, squat, aim, fire, fold paper towel over contents, double or triple bag, then sneak into partner's pack/tool bag... Bonus tip - An empty nut can or Gatorade powder can is nice for after bagging.
  16. I'm not all that fond of that either, the expectation is that this site will outlive most blogs, so the information here won't disappear when you lose interest in blogging. I appreciate that folks like Wayne and Sol, who do keep their own blogs, at least post some pics and narrative, and not just a link. I'd love to see a few TR's from your exploits Mike, you're usually a really fun read.
  17. For the record. I've been attempting to turn over a new leaf and be less of a dick, even here. Shit, I hardly even heckle Trashie anymore and he usually deserves it more than most, if not more than all the sprayers here... I do miss my Carebears, though.
  18. IT'S THAT BLACK MUSLIM GUY WITH NOW BIRTH CERTIFICATE OBAMA'S FAULT!!!
  19. Cougar tastes good. Can be a bit fishy though.
  20. Closed? Since when did that matter???
  21. Thanks for the tip, mark. Shoot/climb on...
  22. Hey Mark, do you happen to have any newer (1-2 year old) DSLR gear for sale? I may pull the trigger on one if my tax return is as fat as I hope it to be. Probably buy new but you seem to upgrade often so I thought I'd ask. Thanks, Dave
  23. For PAS, check out the Panasonic Lumix LX7, no Sony proprietary crap to deal with and the lense is pretty nice... Took these at JTree last month with my LX7...
  24. Me too! Great shots Mark. Thanks for sharing.
  25. none more so than your's, good sir, for reasons that are invariably obvious Even more so, his avatars...
