Speaking of Microsoft, a friend of mine (a Microsoftie) was riding to work through the main campus and was cut off by an Indian lady in her Mercedes, who yelled out her window, "GET A CAR!!!"

You must have a nice commute, KKKKK -- I was riding down Rainier yesterday after getting off the I-90 trail, and i was almost hit by the rear-view mirror of a driver who yelled "get off the road!" and gave me the finger as he sped off. I'm not sure how Fairweather managed to find me, but it was pretty bizarre. I regularly run into reckless "jerk" drivers like this while cycling. That's not to say they are all jerks -- most are pretty considerate.

For the record, I was just up the sauk trail and the red creek crossing was not difficult, there was a great log jam. The road washout was pretty bad, but I saw someone in a 4x4 pickup truck crush past it. A friend of mine saw a celica at the TH -- apparently it had to be pushed through (over) the washout. After the washout, the road is not bad at all.

better be careful what you try to sell or give away -- someone might respond to let you know what a dumbass you were for buying them in the first place.

Are you saying that the modern liberal travels to Gaza to burn American flags in defense of Hamas? Some are lazy enough to just do it here too. Hmm, I don't know anybody (liberal or otherwise) who's burned an american flag anywhere, let alone in support of Hamas. But maybe I'm travelling in the wrong crowd? Why are you so divisive? Divisive? This is spray. If it is too hot for you, there is a great place called Le Cafe that might be more suited to your skin-thickness. If someone wants to do something as provocative as buring an American flag in the Gaza strip, then they too should be well ready for my 1st amendment privlidges to be aired. It's just interesting that you chose this particular instance (some psycho burning an american "flag" in gaza) to take an opportunity to slam "liberals." Kinda like using Larry Craig to slam conservatives, I guess. Pretty pedestrian. Makes you come off a bit more than "slightly right of center" when you refer to modern liberals as flag-burning islamic extremists. But maybe that's just me.

So I've been reading the text of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. Some interesting stuff. For example, from Sec. 5 of FLREA: BASIC RECREATION FEE: FEE-FREE DAY- At every unit or area of a Federal land management area that charges a basic recreation fee, that Secretary concerned shall designate at least one day annually during periods of high visitation as a `Fee-Free Day' when no basic recreation fee is charged. I've never seen one of these....

Too bad. I wonder if he fell higher up, where the angle eases off. It's a bit crappy up there. Good thing he was protected! Sounds like it could have been worse. I wonder what kind of beacon it was? SPOT, or PLB? The story makes it hard to understand if the beacon was successful, or if it was his cell call. Here's to a full recovery!
