Calling JMace.... I noticed you changed the weather for Chilliwack ...well someone at EC changed it. Now it looks better for a Sunday/Monday climb. I really appreciated the extra insight you were able to add last time...are you able to provide a bit more detail on what its looking like now?

Thanks for the info, G-Spot. I am planning a one day ascent from a bivy on Nesakwatch Creek Road. I am uncertain about navigating the Crossover descent route in the dark. Is it pretty straight forward or would route finding be difficult if we had to do it in the dark? jumar stealing

What is the condition of Nesakwatch Creek road? Is it 2wd accessible? I drove it 2 years ago to approach Rexford and my 2wd car didn't quite make it all the way. Also, how far up Slesse Creek road is it gated? I'm curous how far the hike out is going to be. Would like to leave bikes or a second car as far up as possible.

Where do you find such detailed weather info...the Environment Canada site is not that specific.

I'm planning to head up this weekend...if anyone is up there this week, pics or beta on the glacier condition would be much appreciated.

I'd love top hear you theory, Bill. I just figured your non-response was because you didn't have one. Certainly it is not because USA is a defender of democracy and justice...this is clear from the atrocities where US has NOT intervened. Its my opinion that saying this is a "War on Terror" is clever framing of the debate. Are we any safer from terror now? Or are just causing to be raised up a new generation of terrorists? On the other hand, it certainly a convenient way to get the masses to give up rights and freedoms. I'll post references for my previous post soon, just need to look them up again

Well said. But not well thought out or true. Isn't it fun to pretend this regime is a bunch of inept imbiciles? Ever consider they know exactly what they are doing and everything is going to plan? I don't mean Bush and his cronies, I mean the folks pulling the puppet strings.

The REAL goal of this war is to justify spending on the military industrial complex which is another way of saying giving handouts to Cheney and his buddies. This is what war has always been about and always will be. They have a vested interest to drag this out and make the people believe this is about democracy or oil or freedom or whatever smoke screen the masses will believe.

I am in Vancouver, BC, would be up for some multi-pitch stuff in Squamish or something alpine (open to suggestions, anything that can be done as a day trip). Have rack and rope, lead up to 10a/b comfortably, willing to follow up to 10d/11a. Happy to rope gun or be rope gunned.

Reagan was a puppet. His only talent is teleprompt reading. I suspect the same for George W.

When was the last election that *wasn't* just sound bites. Welcome to the age of television. MTV has whittled our collective attention spans to where thats the only way politicians can reach us (by "us" i mean the masses, not the learned CC.com sprayers ;-) We'll get legitimate political discourse as soon as we demand it. A good read on the subject: Neil Postman, "Amusing Ourselves to Death: Political Discourse in the Age of Entertainment". Its an easy read given the subject matter. Along the same lines I just finished Chomsky, "Understanding Power". Interesting book that reframes world events from 1960-ish through 1990s (published just after the WTC bombing), easy read (broken into short sections/topics) but I am still digesting all the info. Anybody here read it? Maybe I'll start my own thread on the subject.

I second the keep your big hexes for alpine stuff...much lighter way to carry big pro or double up on big sizes and/or cheap leave-behinds when backing off. I have #8-11 and place them. I left two backing off the North North Arete in the rain last year. However, I do have to put up with some mocking from those who prefer to carry triples of their #2-#4 camalots up the trail. I can live with that. If Marc doesn't want them, I'll take them.
