I'm driving down from Vancouver, BC tonight to meet my partner at the trailhead. Never been down that way and was thinking I would camp or stay at an inexpensive hotel (not a fleabag hotel). Any recommendations? Thx Looking for something between Seattle and Cle Elum or between Cle Elum and the trailhead.

Looking to get up to Squamish for a day. Ideally would like to do a long multi-pitch such as: -Angle Crest -Rock On/ Ultimate Everything link up But a day of cragging would be ok, too. All this assuming the weather cooperates.

Impossible. Anyone who would disagree with me is either stupid or has a secret agenda.

Why would you let the terrorists build a mosque on ground 0? If you do, terrorists win!

I am looking to get out alpine climbing and/or cragging. Have a very flexible schedule Aug 20 through Sep 4. Comfortable leading 5.9 (5.10 on a good day). Stuff I am interested in: Angel Crest (Squamish) Bugaboo Spire Prusick Peak Stuart Slesse Brewers Buttress (Banff) Sir Donald among others, and open to suggestions. Good attitude - motivated, goal oriented, but won't sulk all the way home if things don't go as planned.

Thanks for posting up the great pics. How long did it take you to the summit from the bivy? How long on the decent? -

Buy hard assets to survive the coming hyperinflation. Real estate is probably a goood bet. But any commodity will do.

The reports here of the Kain Route descent are not congruent with my experience. Perhaps you were off route? The Kain descent is a few easy to find raps followed by easy hiking and scrambling.

PS Some of my posts have real pictures of me for those who are so inclined to search....but then who would be the creepy one in that case?

Democrats see the republicans as facist and hence claim they (the dems) are pro liberty. Republicans see the democrats as socialist, hence they (the republicans) are pro liberty. So yes, everyone is pro-liberty, but more importantly here, the "other guy" is not. Its all about framing the debate by defining the terms. What do you expect from the clan who tried to frame the Afghan war as a war against people who "hate freedom".

How do they know the goat wasn't hurt if it ran off? Sometimes head or internal injuries take some time to manifest.

What do you mean, Kev? Has the USA stopped having free elections? Or do you mean the spirit of democracy b/c any viable candidate has already been vetted by the establishment? If its the latter, news flash, USA never had democracy by the people for the people (thats just what they teach in school). Don't kid yourself, Joe lunch bucket was never someone that the founding fathers had in mind - more like "by rich, white, male landowners for rich, white, male landowners". They just wanted to get themselves and their rich buddies out from under the thumb of 'ol Brittania.

That being said, you should still go out and vote for your favorite capitalist pwned mouthpiece. And make your views on issues known.

Don't confuse my defense of the essential institution of government with a defense of the current government that is run for the wealthy and business. Don't kid yourself. Capital is power. Government will always be by the wealthy for the wealthy. If a miracle occured and a populist government ever got elected and started instituting policies that were actually good for Joe lunch-bucket, capital would flee the country and USA would be another Nicaragua. Not that this would ever happen, but interesting to think "what if". However if the unwashed masses get enough ankle biting in, they may get more scraps thrown their way than if they remained quiet. A democratic form of government at least allows some room for this.
