They have "lap swim" a couple times a day, 5 lanes. But the floaties are still there(I'm not referring to the people). Is lap swimming anything like lap dancing? 8D Only if you're slow enough to get run over by the other peeps in the lane. I'm reeeaaaaal slow.

Knottygirl, is metal your art medium? Give us a look at this art, will ya?

Impressive! Sounds like you got off to a good start. I was building treeforts and garages for my matchbox cars when I was seven years old. Guess that explains a lot of things.

Hats off to you. Anytime I see a strong swimmer go by, I'm in awe. Some people can make it look so natural and graceful. I bet you do kickturns, too? Someday....*sigh*

What, there's a ZONE in swimming?! Ver duz vone vind dis zone? Yes, our community is fortunate to have a decent aquatic facility(Sequim's a retirement mecca, so that probably helps support it. LOTS of sr. folks in there doing physical therapy, etc.) Hard to find the "zone" when you're dodging floaties though.

Trailrunning(my first love) Biking(zoom zoom!) Swimming (to recover from biking and running ) Yoga (see above) Weightlifting (because I'm an overachiever) Tai Chi and Qi Gong(gettin' my zen groove on) Anything creative(painting, cooking, woodworking, designing, writing, playing classical guitar...) I love creating beauty, whether it's through physical movement(sports, etc), visual awareness(art and nature) or internal training(energy and thoughts). Climbing is perfect because it incorporates each of these elements in some way. And it's fun. (Hey Arch, that's cool about your doing triathalons! Maybe I'll do one with you someday. Still got a lot of work to do on my swimming, though...it's hard. )

Tons. I have a room in my house I call the gear room. That's what lives in there. When you are ready to buy some more gear, PM me first--I got lots o stuff I can part with for a good deal. Or for trade. I need a mountain bike, scarpa tele boots, a drysuit or wetsuit, all sorts of stuff. I got needs. Could have used that drysuit at Smith last weekend.

So, are the "flehmers" the straight ones? I'm so confused.
-
You said it.
-
I don't care if they're gay or straight, but I could have gone without learning this : "Male giraffes determine female fertility by tasting the female's urine in order to detect estrus, in a multi-step process known as the flehmen response." Ewwwwwwwwww. Giraffes are gross.

Selkirk's right. Better have a back-up plan for the kid's college fund.

... my dad could not figure out for the life of him why my gear needs to live INSIDE the house... it's cus it's my favorite thing Exactly!! That does it...the rope bag's comin' in, too!
-
She's lucky I didn't bring in the rope bag, too.

Great stokey thread, Muffy! Me, too--I'm so excited for spring!!! Wanting to keep my gear close at hand, I brought my climbing pack into the house(instead of the garage where most of that stuff lives) and caught flack for taking up too much closet space. I like the tinkling sound the gear makes, even in the pack. Can't a girl live a little??

We're up and running out here in the sticks. Anybody want me to check their email for them?
-
That does seem to be her best side. (Work it girl! )

Yeah, better hold off on the photoshopping for the time being. Don't want to permanantly damage the kiddies. ("...and, Dr., I remember this one time, when I was 9yrs old and really sad, my mommy turned our kitty green....) Sounds like you have everyone's best interest's at heart. That's a lucky family.

I've had it done twice(for a back injury), once by an LMP and once by a PT. Both incorporated in their overall treatment--which included myofascial massage and trigger point therapy, respectively--and I have to say that out of dozens of treatments I have received from either of them over the past few years, those two sessions that included the cranio-sacral therapy inexplicably stand out. My perception was that it took the healing experience deeper in some way, seeming to increase or enhance the effectiveness of their particular modality. Not sure how it would be when done as a treatment on it's own, but I wouldn't pass up the chance to try if it came along. Hope that's of some help, Kat. Best wishes to you in your recovery! Be well, Sherri:wave:

Big Foot is blurry. But those couldn't have been his footprints(he doesn't wear moon boots. Or Allstars.)

Kitty-cams! I like that idea of being able to check on them while in hospital. That's a nice service to offer. Glad to see that the patient is not glowing green. (I bet you could photoshop one of the webcast images to achieve that, though, just to torment the kids. ) Best wishes for Spirit's happy-homecoming!
