She's lucky I didn't bring in the rope bag, too.

Great stokey thread, Muffy! Me, too--I'm so excited for spring!!! Wanting to keep my gear close at hand, I brought my climbing pack into the house(instead of the garage where most of that stuff lives) and caught flack for taking up too much closet space. I like the tinkling sound the gear makes, even in the pack. Can't a girl live a little??

We're up and running out here in the sticks. Anybody want me to check their email for them?

That does seem to be her best side. (Work it girl! )

Yeah, better hold off on the photoshopping for the time being. Don't want to permanantly damage the kiddies. ("...and, Dr., I remember this one time, when I was 9yrs old and really sad, my mommy turned our kitty green....) Sounds like you have everyone's best interest's at heart. That's a lucky family.

I've had it done twice(for a back injury), once by an LMP and once by a PT. Both incorporated in their overall treatment--which included myofascial massage and trigger point therapy, respectively--and I have to say that out of dozens of treatments I have received from either of them over the past few years, those two sessions that included the cranio-sacral therapy inexplicably stand out. My perception was that it took the healing experience deeper in some way, seeming to increase or enhance the effectiveness of their particular modality. Not sure how it would be when done as a treatment on it's own, but I wouldn't pass up the chance to try if it came along. Hope that's of some help, Kat. Best wishes to you in your recovery! Be well, Sherri:wave:

Big Foot is blurry. But those couldn't have been his footprints(he doesn't wear moon boots. Or Allstars.)

Kitty-cams! I like that idea of being able to check on them while in hospital. That's a nice service to offer. Glad to see that the patient is not glowing green. (I bet you could photoshop one of the webcast images to achieve that, though, just to torment the kids. ) Best wishes for Spirit's happy-homecoming!

Ahhh, the nuances of self-mutilation--I see you are true a connoisseur of chainsaw carnage, AlpineK. I agree, a worthy wound must communicate that "element of surprise". I was able to achieve that spontaneous look because the chainsaw was airborne at the time it chewed into my shin. It really worked for me, I reckon. Sounds like it might be time to "freshen up" a few of yours, if you're looking for a new technique...

That'd be sweet. Would you pose with me--bet you have some great scars.

BTW, if anyone is considering hoteling it for their next Smith trip, check out the Redmond Inn at the other end of town, next to Safeway. It's comparable in price to the Hub, Village Squire, etc.($43/night)--all rooms include fridge, micro, cable TV, continental breakfast, Sunday paper, and wireless internet--but for the price you get a much nicer room. Everything's very clean and recently updated. Didn't have that grungy feel that some of those older, well-worn places acquire. Also, the owners were friendly and very flexible about the reservations, as I had to change my dates a couple times and ended up cancelling the last night without much notice(due to aforementioned rain and sleet.)

That's what I was going to model for after I did this.

I feel your pain, Arch. I spent that sunny Friday in the car, driving to Smith--totally missing that sunburn opportunity --but I had high hopes for Saturday morning. Where'd that rain come from?!? Figured I'd wait it out: went for a run, waited, went for a hike, waited, played Scrabble, waited....we did manage to get in two quick pitches at the VERY end of the day. Long drive for two pitches. Tried to make up for lost time on Sunday, though. At least the sun was shining for much of it. But that was about it. This morning looked too dismal to even bother hoping for anything climbable. As I drove out of town, it started SLEETING. Those folks who went to Leavenworth sure got the better end of the weather this time around. Lucky ducks.

Found one matching that description hanging on the signboard by the footbridge today. I'll email you.

[TR] Red Rocks and hiking the Paria Canyon
Sherri replied to mythosgrl's topic in The rest of the US and International.
Woo-hoo, more RR stokey! Nice to see it thru other's eyes(cameras?) and experiences. Also loved the canyon hike TR. You could feel the warm sun in those pictures! However, in rating the content, I must cast my vote for the confession about the hotel bivy. The iron/jet boil is classic! I'm a hotel rat, too, and admit to having used hotel appliances in ways Howard Johnson never intended. (I discovered that the classy metal tissue boxes at the Golden Nugget, when emptied and inverted, could be warmed with the hair dryer. Made quite a nice mini-oven. ) Thanks for sharing the fun and creativity! -
Stone the crows, mate! Oz to Alaska? Strike, how'd ya end up in the back paddock of the States?? As for the spraying, be a good little Vegemite and don't forget what your mum said: "The tall poppy gets the chop first." 'On ya!

I'm afraid if I tried them I'd fall on my face from looking at weird my shoes.

It's like they tried reinventing feet.
