  1. Great pics, Porter! Makes me look forward to getting back out there soon! More pics and route beta here: Olympic Peninsula Rock Climbing Hope to see you around sometime.
  2. It is groovy. Don't miss out on the chance to rope up with Old 5.9 if you get over here. He knows the place well.
  3. I know folks that climb there year round, rain, shine or snow.(I'm not much for the cold and wet or I'd be out there myself since it's so close--fun place to train in summer though ) Wouldn't surprise me if someone's not out there pulling on something today, as a matter of fact. PM the user "old5.9" and I'm sure he'll be happy to swap belays with you.

    Immersion!

What is happening right now? Dood, I'm on cc.com. What am I doing? Spraying. What am I feeling? A little gassy What am I thinking? I hope that's just gas. What am I trying to achieve right now? I'll answer that one later. What am I doing that may be stopping me from getting what I want? If I knew what I wanted, why would I be doing something to stop myself from getting it? Stop asking dumb questions. What can I choose to do differently that will help me get what I want? I choose not to answer this question. What is contributing to my success that I need to keep doing or do more of? See answer to first question right now .
  5. Thanks for the Index stokey! Makes me wish spring would come FAST.

You can put a dirtbag in a nice Hilton, but he's still going to steal the toilet paper.
  7. Might be worth checking out this thread by lancegranite and shooting him a PM. Good luck!

    Underwear are aid.
  10. I think I saw our Catbirdseat registered in their memberlist . High brings up a good issue with this thread, and I lean toward keeping spray in Spray, but those are good points, Couloir. Group hug anyone? :kisss:

  12. How would I feel? Like they had just reaffirmed my decision to embrace the future and take that new, plum job in Cali. Sounds like the universe is giving you a nudge, pal.
  13. I like to do belly breathing as much as possible to keep the side stitches at bay(or to get rid of one). If I stop paying attention to my breathing it gets weak and shallow and my performance follows. If I'm cranking full-steam up a hill, I do an exaggerated, forceful exhalation every third or fourth breath to fully clear out the carbon dioxide and maximize the oxygen I can take in on the next inhalation(disclaimer: I don't know the true physiological merits of this technique, but I do find that it helps tremendously). Massaging your diaphragm trigger points and intercostals can facilitate the ability to take those deep, relaxed breaths.
  14. This place rocks. The stories of these magnificent girls bring tears to my eyes every time, but I love what the folks here have done to provide a happy ending to their tales(tails ). HmC_nLOr9R8&NR=1 Misty and Delhi performed together in the circus but were eventually separated for many years. This day in the video shows Misty's arrival at the sanctuary and the happy reunion. Mistys bio: In July of 1983, Misty was one of four elephants performing at the now defunct Lion Country Safari in Irvine, California. It is reported that on July 25, Misty broke lose from her chains. A park zoologist was killed as he tried to capture her. After the accident Misty was whisked away and absorbed by the circus industry until 1988 when she was purchased by the Hawthorn Corporation. Misty maintained her reputation as a dangerous elephant until the day the Sanctuary staff took custody of her from the Hawthorn Corporation. Her parting shot was to strike John Cuneo, owner of the Hawthorn Corporation, across the chest with her trunk as he attempted to make her stretch out on her sternum so he could remove her chains. Upon her arrival at the Sanctuary, Misty turned over a new leaf. She is playful, cooperative and most importantly non-aggressive, allowing keepers to form a close and safe relationship with her. Her playfulness is contagious and her affection for all she meets is obvious. Elephant Sanctuary
  15. Awwww, man, CBS, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife and about the tough choices on your plate. As far as whether to go or to stay, I'm basically of the same opinion that DeC posted upthread. While neither decision is a win-win, do whichever will give both of you the most peace of mind now and fewest regrets later. The "bird in the hand" may very well be this time you have left to share with your wife. Hugs, Sherri

  18. thats what i was thinking. any more excuses and she will start convincing other people to stop climbing becuae it is just too much trouble. Brings that Richard Bach quote to mind: "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours." I've worked really hard to justify what I can't do, so don't go tellin' me what I CAN.
  19. Wait til she dynos outta that thing and steals the car keys.

  22. Stay clear of anyone out there wearing a cascadeclimbers.com t-shirt, and you should be okay.
  23. What you don't understand is that we need to talk.
