One of our less shining moments as a crag couple: "Why are watching me like that?" "I am trying to figure out what you are doing." "I am flaking the rope, what does it look like I'm doing." "What was wrong with the way I flaked it?" "How was I supposed to know you had flaked it." "You were standing right there, you couldn't see that I flaked the damn rope?" "I wasn't watching." Good times.

Thanks, Rob. Remember the guy who posted awhile back about his g/f wanting to have a "relationship discussion" on their way to the climb, and by the time they arrived and geared up, he was like "On belay, bitch." That one cracks me up every time I think about it. (And I think I've used that command a few times myself.... )

That's funny, I think I've lost a few climbing partners via PMS.
  5. The new REI catalog?
  6. I like it. If there are some active threads I'm following, it is a good quick way to see whether there's anything new. I find it handy to have "past 24" (w/out spray) and "past 48" (with). Me2
  7. Ooops, spoke too soon...looks like am still short of a partner for one more day there, Sat 3/8 or Sun 3/9? Anyone interested? I promise I won't bring rain.
  8. There are some helpful online guides, too. Like Index Town Walls and Climbing Washington Also good beta on routes and areas at Mountainproject.com and Summitpost.org.
  9. Note to self: "lose" camera at Vantage next trip... Good luck on it's happy return, Steve!
  10. If you like gristle.
  11. Rob has a secret button. Kewl. Can I play with it sometime?
  12. Cosmic interference?....yeah, that must be it...ummm, exactly how many celebration drinks did you have last night, Missy? Hey, that sounds like a pretty swish woodburner, by the way. Too bad you don't know any other woodworkers who could put it to good use.
  13. But not without a fight.
  14. For your next project, you should do a "Climber" version of this! You could little pictures of taped hands, cams, ropes, beer cans, etc. You've got the talent and the experience....Would be a great cc.com fundraiser!
  15. You're welcome to use mine. (chainsaw kicked back, went airborne, and flew into my shin while working on a log railing.)

    Show-and-Tell TR

Just put the finishing touches on this one. It's a more detailed variation of the original shown at the beginning of the thread, and includes a snazzy log frame.(that was a fun challenge) It's hefty, though--measures 3' x 4' and weighs 35lbs. FYI for Rmncwrtr: you'd like working with the finish I used on this(for your next project ). It's called "Tried and True Wood Finish". It's completely non-toxic(you could finish salad bowls with it) and soooooo easy to apply. Just rub it in, buff, and repeat.
  17. It's beee-oooot-iful! People better bring some fat checkbooks to that auction, is what I'm sayin'. This is fine art, from the heart(which is the best kind.) Enjoy that celebration . You deserve it.
  18. You're fired.
  19. This is better than Accuweather.

OMG, now it all makes sense.
  21. I'm glad it's staying, even if I have to press an extra button for it. If the site was only for climbing posts, I'm afraid I wouldn't have very much to say. I can see why this is important to Rob. Spray serves a purpose; it's a way for folks that share a common interest to stay connected while they are not out participating in that common interest. I'd go so far as to say that it creates community. Albeit a disturbingly dysfunctional one. Porter, you guys do an incredible job keeping this place together. I know we're in good hands, whatever the changes.

  23. I'm all set for a partner for this one. Thanks, all. Forecast says sun sun sun sun!
  24. Thanks, Steve. I'll pass along the congrats to Kelly. Good luck on your trip, too.

I think Rod's older songs are great(not the new "Downtown Train" crap) like Maggie May, You're in My Heart, etc. Then again, I have bad taste so I guess that's not saying much.
