  1. (I guess now is not the time to bring up my fondness for scrambled eggs)
  2. Let him off? How could that possibly have happened?
  3. Thanks, I found that site. Had never heard the word 'pulk' before I saw it there.

  5. You feckin' kids today...this is what happens when the water-fluoridatin' libtards take over the public schools...
  6. Rooster, I have a question. The other day at work someone said I type using "the chicken method: hunt and peck!" Are your feelings are hurt when humans use your kind as humor material? Or what about the time when The Penguin---a fellow bird!---had that scheme to smuggle diamonds in chickens and cackled “eggscellent!” Does the exploitation make you feel cheap and used?
  7. Yes, I was looking at one today in the store. I made my post here because I thought they would not be very durable. For $30 I'll buy one and thrash-test it. Pretty funny if a $30 product ends up being preferable to one costing hundreds.
  8. well fuck..."expedition sled" duh thanx
  9. All this talk about shovels failing: I wonder if people have been levering on the shovels? You know, jamming the shovel in then levering down on the handle trying to prize out a mass o' snow. 1/4" structural steel could stand up to that. Not sure if aluminum backcountry res-q shovels would. Just a thought.
  10. Anyone know a source for sleds suitable for hauling gear behind a skier or skiers? For example, the sort of sled that could be used to haul gear for a lengthy trip up glaciers/ice fields in Alaska or the Coast Range. I have googled different terms and find only kid's sleds or Iditarod dog race stuff. thanks
  11. Get a grip here, Builder. In the context of an ogoing discussion, your post is obnoxious. I neither sidetracked the discussion nor insulted anybody. Well, now you HAVE sidetracked the thread by throwing down. You're pretty thin-skinned if a mild "your post is irrelevant" excites you so much. So you have to get in my face with that word "obnoxious," eh? And who said anything about insulting anyone? All your post contained was bragging about your boyhood exploits. Nobody cares what you climbed when you were 15. To repeat, it doesn’t contribute to the thread. What the boy does when he can make his own decisions 12 years from now is irrelevant to decisions his father may make right now, which *is* this thread's topic (and whether the boy will live long enough to make his own). You’re lucky I was so cordial as to only call your post “irrelevant.” To call my post “obnoxious” is the height of arrogance. That's the pot calling the kettle black.
  12. According to his father who started this thread, the child in question is less than 3 years old. The original question before thread drift was about hauling this child up Hood. In that context, stick's and mattp's posts seem entirely irrelevant.
  13. It varies by individual.
  14. You suck. That's like posting a link to Rick Roll.
  15. So CBS, a question: polycarbonates are the hard clear plastics, right? Soft or soft-ish opaque white plastics are made of some other compound, is that correct? What I'm getting at is, are *only* polycarbonates the problem? I like my estrogen curvy and on two legs.
  16. some of those people in the PI forum should be dragged into a field and put down like mad dogs
  17. ken4ord, setting new standards for embracing the suck. Anti-glee. Way to represent.
  18. Rob, thanks a lot for your help with improving my rock skills last year. I’m happy you’re on the rebound from this bug and I look forward to more good times at Index next summer. (and maybe Darrington too, right?) I got sick in a foreign country once and man, even if you are still under the weather, you will get a huge boost when you step back onto U.S. soil. Keep your chin up! Best wishes, Mike
  19. Right now I have a cat on my lap
  20. You do not know depravity.
  21. wait, what?
  22. I’ll put my back into the effort and work tirelessly to push the movement forward day after day for as long as it takes. Are there interviews or do you just take on all comers? Where do I sign up?
  23. I started CF 18 months ago and returned to climbing after a long hiatus last summer. I made a big error in that I relied more on CF than I should have. June and July I got spanked on approaches. This winter I am going to do much more loadpacking and snowshoeing and rely much less on CF than I did last year. Some CFers do have the notion that CF is the be-all and end-all. I may have thought that once but not after last summer.
  24. Actually, he's not making a joke.
