  1. Could be grooming too. EEP!
  2. Widow Maker! ::
  3. Just be sure to check yourself for ticks, it is a good month. The worst spot I've seen (next to a spot where Elk and deer like to bed down) had em crawling around like ants.
  4. There's all sorts of camping everywhere around Rimrock Lake and the access road (right next to Goose Egg), hard to say which spots will be occupied, just poke around, I'd recommend looking for something that'll have a nice view and sunshine, it's a pretty place. Also.... Lots of nice camping up either the Wildcat or Lava Point access roads, or at the Cave parking or on the other side of the Tieton River (take the dirt road between the two bridges near the Oasis, then head down to the river) if you plan on climbing in the Canyon proper. Ah, I'd add the usual warnings not to go there at all in May (or ever) due to ticks, snakes and weird people living in creepy trailers down by the river..........
  5. I think this says more about the evils of little girls..... She'll make one hell of a Scout.
  6. Thought you said So which is the "only" reason? Got an airplane, talked to a lawyer, but can't pay $600?
  7. Not going to let you have your cake and eat it too pal. All sorts of folks are protesting and being arrested and you aren't really doing anything worthwhile and won't even take responsibility for what you are now admitting here you did. Sounds like you just like seeing a proxy for your face on a big screen. "Look at me look at me! whee!" Seems your posts here are more of the same. Folks here make all sorts of efforts and sacrifices to ensure the survival of more than just raptors. BTW what's up with your use of punctuation,. just gotta be special? Or just stupid,.

Just noticed something about this thread; for the most part it's the men that are arguing...... Wonder what that says.
  9. Yeah what he says, plus you can't be a Happy Camper if you get 'roid rage.

    Occupy

Actually from what I've heard about the Amish, that would mean Secret Service guys breaking into our homes and forcibly giving us haircuts if we criticized him, oh, or am I thinking of the Amish lunatic fringe? That's an improvement?

Well I think it's pretty simple, after reading that: HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT????? Whine, whine, whine, about what viewpoint YOU think you're entitled to. And always calling people names and exaggerating and yes--heaven forfend--even lying. NOT very neighborly. You guys seem to have a world view that YOU are the only people who are operating on good faith. And for many it's even worse, they believe only the folks who drink their flavor of Jeebus Cool Aid get to heaven, Sometimes eloquence is still retarded.
  12. Sarah's where we need her to be already--OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Yeah, I used one as a solo tent and the moisture thing was huge, I remember feeling REALLY micro droplets that were coming through the walls as it poured in a Tstorm. You don't want to be up against it either. They're not so good in really high wind. Still really good. Try looking at the RAB eVent tents too, got the Superlite and it's waterproof and bomber. Pretty much identical weight.
  14. Chuck Norris crushed William Shatner in Dodgeball!
  15. Firstlight is very water resistant, but not waterproof, so you'll be cramped and wet. Great tent for drier climates.
  16. As for the first point, I haven't yet learned how to say please with a ball gag in my mouth (Ving Rhames anyone?). As for the second, dead on, horses are better at listening (often).
  17. Maybe you should hit up Marmot Prince for some "pharmaceutics", er sleeping pills? Relax, just think nice thoughts of all your LDS neighbors in Boise, they are nice people and I'm sure that makes them happy. Romney will HAVE TO pick some nut job Jeebus veep, safe to say we've seen the last of Darth C.
  18. Sorry Dane, it's just such a great picture, one of your finest, couldn't resist.
  19. So is that what you did on a date?
  20. Hey sorry, I must have forgot the part about giving her a chalk bag with a stuffed animal nestled in it........
  21. Good advice if she's a high maintenance princess. We live in the 21st century, enough of the turning your man into a servant boy baloney. The opposite of this--the man is the king of the castle--has long been discarded as chauvinism, you know have the house clean, the beer cold, the dinner hot, and the bed hotter, all served demurely with a smile. How about BOTH of you share the work and the fun, after all the fun part of climbing is a strong partnership.
  22. BW testing (http://outdoorlink.org/ol/files/trdocs/research-papers/Knot-and-cord-strength.pdf) The tensile strength of BW 7mm static cord is 2,600lbf. Loop strength on carabiner diameter test pins was 4,200lbf or about 80% of double strength. It was virtually the same percentage in BW 8mm static cord. Cords were tied with double fisherman knots and failure mode was the cord broke at the test pins. In 5.5 spectra we observed loop strength of 3,900lbf or 60% of double tensile. Failure mode with a triple fisherman knot was breakage at the test pin but with a double fisherman (not recommended to make loops in 5.5 Spectra) the failure mode was at the knot and at a slightly lower value. This was different than expected and it would be interesting to see if other high strength cords behaved similarly in single loop testing. Spectra seems to be much more affected than larger cord by the small radius of a carabiner.
  23. You remember to factor the knot into the breaking strength?
