  2. Your presentation would be much more dramatic if you would use the x-axis for temporal data, and have two individual curves for thermal and peg-leg-atal data.
  3. how much patagonia shit can you wear at any given time das ist eine das parka
  4. A TR for Trezlar, now I've seen it all. Another option for the start is to climb the 10ish sporto route to the left of Trezlar and rap over to the start of the nice second pitch.
  5. the french would pronounce it lah nu-vel or-lay-on
  6. pie-rats uv da cara-bee-in
  7. I'd be interested to know what you think of bolted belay anchors on Beacon Rock. Ideally, would you have preferred no bolted anchors at all, perhaps making some lines more tedious to climb? Your very generous hardware additions to the crag make Beacon Rock a safer, more forgiving place. Is it simply a matter of replacing anchors that have "traditionally" been there?
  8. In this scenario you don't even need to leave your desk. Just use a fedex box and put it in coworker's cube. you've got mail.
  9. is this poll able to withstand 2.2kN on Tuesday?
  10. I see old george is wearing his I'M RIGHT HERE DAMMIT jacket.
  11. build a really really tall showerhead. by the time the water hits you it will be at appropriate temperature.

Didn't you ever see Moses part the f'ing Red Sea? It's a great plan. Go Bush.
  14. Similar to the barbarians who designed the metal bar in the forest service toilets that is a micron too wide for the rolls of toilet paper, creating a desperate struggle to acquire a mere sheet.
  15. He's probably better-grounded than benny hinn. Actually I take that back, Benny Hinn is perhaps the most shrewd business man out there. Who else can shrug off 60 minutes news crews like water off a duck's back? Who else can convince "parapalegics" to think they don't need their wheelchairs anymore, and people watching on tv believe it all (and write checks)? The guy's a genius. A sick, calculating, hair-combing genius.
  16. newsflash: industrious new orleans residents build life raft from hundreds of air jordans. satellite com re-established with mickey mouse hat array.
  17. Not so surprised about the looting. Those people are desperate. The looting for things like jewelry and the shootings are strange. Almost like watching Lord of the Flies or something. The dismantling of society seems to happen pretty quickly. Makes you wonder how quickly your town could fall apart after something like this. I do wonder what all of those stranded in town felt about the flooding threat. Were they for the most part aware of the danger, or do they not actually realize the potential for this to happen? Did they recognize the risk but could not leave, or did they choose to stay? You shouldn't have to be a hazard analysis expert when determining where to live, so surely some responsiblity rests on the city to warn residents of this possibility. Though it is also a tragedy that people are so disconnected with nature that they would require a government warning about these risks.
  18. The Netherlands get storms too, but nothing like the reliable storms the Gulf receives EVERY year. It's just sad because over the past years, every hurricane season, you always hear "wow, that was close, it's a good thing it didn't hit new orleans, THAT would be a catastrophe".
  19. Since they are all seeking refuge in the Superdome (and now the Astrodome!?) I propose building a giant dome in the same place, and then rebuilding the city inside it.
  20. You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes. You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes. You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes. You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.
  21. put a cork in it you self-righteous prick
  22. Oh really? It sucks? You don't say.
  23. Perhaps, living in SF you are looking for trouble, but at least there is not an annual certainty that a major event will either brush the outskirts of the town, or wipe it out completely. If you consider Seattle or Portland, there is no question that at some point in the future, there will be a major, devastating natural event that will destroy much of the town with tremendous consequences. Whether it is a major earthquake, or lahar, it's inevitable based on the strata underneath. Yet the timescale on such an event is so large, that it seems more acceptable to live in these areas.
  24. A couple miles inland. New Orleans is such a unique town with a lot of history, culture, and overall coolness, but it makes zero sense to try to maintain an urban metropolis on a shifting river delta, part of which is below sea level. It's insanity at face value. Now that they are required to make these decisions I hope it does not involve rebuilding in locations that are asking for trouble.
