When there waws no bridge and you had to 4 wheel to the springs the place was pristine!! you can get in from mt currie/pemberton dunno if sloqeut road itself is plowed http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dsq/Engineering/roadinformation.htm

So amazing, I really wonder why that is, I was most often the only North American born kid in many of my math and physics classes I think its because our public schools at least here in Canada SUCK huge ass and the material we cover in grade 12 most Asian and European schools cover in grade 9 but that has nothing to do with the defecit so I will just shut up now

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050202-123527-1015r.htm Chicago Sun-Times columnist Mark Brown, who has consistently opposed Mr. Bush and the war in Iraq, wrote for yesterday's edition that "it's hard to swallow," but "what if it turns out Bush was right, and we were wrong?" The Chicago columnist wrote that he was struck by "television coverage from Iraq that showed long lines of people risking their lives by turning out to vote, honest looks of joy on so many of their faces." "If it turns out Bush was right all along, this is going to require some serious penance," Mr. Brown wrote.

Scott led it, steep sections but there were a few steps in between, so we thought like 4, 4- you could lead the right at 4+, the midle at 5 ? its quite big flow with room for a couple of parties. it was snowing, a little rain in the afternoon then back to some flurries, so hopefully it stays cold. It definetly had some battle scars after the warm weather, but all in all quite nice!!

Climb: Manning Park-Go with the Flow Date of Climb: 1/30/2005 Trip Report: After asking a few folks to come out and play, I hooked up with two people who were willing to get out, Scott and Luisa. We walked over to Nepopekum which was flowing hard really hard, so after faling about we walked over to Go with the Flow, waded the river and climbed a beautiful flow, 30 m?? we thought more like 90 m. WE climbed 60m then ran out of time due to flailing around Nepopekum falls looking for ice. Rapped off and walked home in the dark, then being extremely smart I ran out of gas 2km outside of hope. But being far enough away from the city people actually picked me up and my round trip was about 20 min, so not bad. Good times and Good people!!! Gear Notes: A few screws, ropes.... No snow so no skis or snow shoes Approach Notes: Wade the river, no trees or rocks nearby, then slog up scree to the base 1hour.

snowpack data for Waddington-Homathko area?
jmace replied to pete_a's topic in British Columbia/Canada
Yes freezing levels have been hovering around 2000 m and rising by sunday to 2600 m with the warm system from the South that I mentioned in another post. But Dru and Pete a have good points. First dru is right, wadd gets snow all year round, unfortunaltey no one rides at 4000m so that number is kinda pointless maybe upper tiedaman at 3000m, so ya its probably wet mush now. but all this doom and gloom is directly proportional to the amount of TV you watch. Bad few weeks here a little unprecedented, but we just had a few phenomenal weeks, all it takes is a few weeks of cold and little dumping of snow and blam were back. I mentioned in another post that it appears as though we may get in to some colder air by the middle of next week. So keep your fingers crossed and watch the weather, better yet watch the jet stream. -
I was thinking, this would be a good time to take up kayaking, Warm temps, probably be able to run some creeks that never have enough water in them to kayak. any want to take me?
-
good logic Dru, unfortunatley there is a storm developing sat morning along the california coast and moving North. Bringing warm moist air, hence vancouver high is 12 but I would rather be wrong and see it freeze in lillooet over the weekend, all we can do is watch now.
-
I hasve to agree with Bob, its below freezing every night and just a tad above in the day. For us I dont see us below the double digits for a few more days. But I think we will see the freezing leves drop starting around tues next week with a return to more "normal' conditions, as the jet stream starts pulling in colder arctic air. Keep you r fingers crossed, i suppose with forecst highs in lilloet hovering around 8 and recored highs of the last couple days around 9 we wil have to wait for it all to rebuild again. but hey theres at least a solid month left. see you in the rockies

West Coast Ice 2nd edition to printer 11/25/04
jmace replied to Don_Serl's topic in Ice Climbing Forum
Nice book Don!!!! After losing my mind on the teller last night at the co-op I went back today and bought it. The teller wouldnt let me out of the store with is becasuse no one knew how much it cost, so i threw 40$ at her and said keep the change, she didnt like that. I am glad you kept all the obscure and rarley formed climbs in there as well as adding many arond the lower mainland, good price too!!! Well done and only one weekend of cold gone by with out it the book, not bad at all!!! Cheers -
Over 300 views no one wants to climb? With highs appraching double digits and freezing levels approaching 3000 m next week, no one wants to get one last day of South coast ice on sat? My regulars are working and having a b-day bash.
