12km is not the smallest detail, MM5 is a great model, if you dont know what you are looking at then they can be quite innacurate. if you want to try and forecast cloud and rain use the 70 kpa relative humidity chart, 90% is rain and 70% is cloud. Using this alone can be difficult but it can give you an idea of cloud or precip in a more localized area, knowing the topograhy can help you help the computer forecast. Good Luck

You dont actually need to tread the skew T in ordr to get the cloud deck you need to read the metar/taf reports issued by your local airport. METAR CYVR 041600Z 11007KT 8SM -RA SCT040 OVC068 13/11 A2995 RMK SC3AC5 PCPN VRY LGT SLP142= its usually one of the first codes, this one issued at 16z or 9am, says sctatterd clouds at 4000 feet and overcast at 6800 feet, sometimes if you look around they may decode them for you but its pretty easy to read. Forecasting cloud decks is a whole other ball game.

No doubt, thats why I only hang out with mature drug users. Obviously not getting on dope enough

Nice to have met you, I think that was the first time.

Half like twins? I thought it was friction on the ropes that made it unsafe to clip two fat strands to the same biner, if you want to use halfs like twins you just clip two biners to te same piece. Maybe im wrong cause i never use twins and I never clip my halfs to the same piece.

Hey Dru was that you I ran into on cream, I hiked to far and ended up at the top of the first pitch? I was there around 10 am after we climbed slot and golden labs? Also I climbed that route over the rainbow however I never knew what it was? but I thought it started beside diedre straight up to the tree beside the first belay of diedre then you can either go up the arch of sickle or up more bolts to the tree island then straight up over a arching flake that has dry green ooze stuff coming out of it, nice route, 5.9 seems a little on the high side to me but maybe I climbed a combo of routes.

Welcome to canadian weather folks, truth of the matter is most people dont give a fuck and all they want to know is if they shold bring an umbrella to work. Sucks for outdoor enthusiasts but like everythnig else in this world you eventually got a pay for it, here its 2.99 a minute. here is a little caption from Environment Canada when the decided to stop telling us what is going on and replaced it with a sun cloud rain icon. Q. You used to have weather synopses on your Web site. What happened to them? A. Synopses were discontinued in September 2001. We have conducted public and media opinion research and we found that 85% of the media did not even read the synopsis. In addition, pages giving the synopses had low traffic. Since we rely heavily on the media to broadcast our bulletins, if the media do not use a bulletin, this bulletin becomes a candidate for cancellation. This allows us to focus on higher-priority services. We have not completely terminated the total functionality of the synopsis, however. When we anticipate that some significant weather conditions are going to affect certain regions of the country, we issue special weather statements to inform the concerned population of the situation. By issuing these special weather statements, we hope to satisfy the need for descriptive information on the general weather situation when circumstances call for it.
