Bug, what are you asking for the ski package, and what size foot? My kids are somewhere in the 4 - 4.5 size range. e

I have memory of being at the Meany lodge probably in very early 70's, and having a hard time keeping the rope down low enough for me to hang on to it. I remember putting it in my armpit to try to hold it down, but a couple times it got away from me half-way up and would shoot into the air feeling like it was going to rip my arm off. Wow, that is almost 40 years ago.
-
When the ice starts coming in, come meet me in Wenathcee and I will show you the basics and set you up a top rope. You can play for the day and see if you like it. PM me in a about a month if you are interested.

that scares the hell out of me to just watch it.

You make 40 look awful good luv! e -
It is my impression that there have been far more babies/young children at Vantage this year than in previous years. good job folks! e
-
Kevbone, you created the favorite thread on the site. Good job. Is there a plan for a kids weekend at the rock this fall? Vantage mid October? Everyone brings the babies and let them all get filthy?

Never lose the hip belay, it is quick, easy, and perfect for a lot of situations. Just because there is a newer way, don't lose the Old's Cool style!
-
I didn't think anyone still leashed belay devices since the figure-8 went out of style. Just don't drop it, if you do use a munter hitch.

Image lake has some nice ones overlooking glacier peak

I remember reading in one of John Roskelley's books, that during his youth while he was stretching his wings, numerous folks predicted a young death, and even went to tell his parents that the kid was going to kill himself. I am not comparing Jamin to John, but I do recognize that Jamin's willing and adventurous spirit could lead him to great accomplishments if he can stay alive long enough to learn. Learn Jamin, Learn!

My personal preference is often to go out without looking at the guidebooks. Guidebooks lessen the adventure of discovery. If I am doing "established" trade-routes, then I want everything I can get out of the guidebook; but backcountry, it is nice to be surprised. I like Jamin's sense of adventure and willingness to face the unknown.

I agree Bill, hence, my decision was made as soon as the two of you posted.

"if you treat her right no man will ever be allowed to treat her wrong" I like that. I think I will put that at the bottom of a poster I am making of my little girl. Thanks muff

I have no problem with the "he deserved it" defense. Seemed to me that he went pretty easy on the guy.

Having recommendations from both Bill and Joeseph seems pretty darn credible. As I said, looking at them they look like da bomb! I am sold.

tough issue Matt, I often email the person who "sent" it and ask what it is. time consuming, but safer. I would personally have an irritated client than a screwed up computer; the computer is often harder to repair. eric

I saw These at the Red Rocks Vue last spring and they made a lot of logical sense to me. Has anyone ever had any real experience with them yet?

be fun to try to get on an airplane wearing the vest. If no one else buys it, I may make an offer later.

WOW! You have my admiration sir!! I find the story inspiring, making me feel like going to try some similar trips. -
Won't tell you how much your post turns me on; but if nothing else just using rock colored chalk at least leaves less of a trail.
-
I find the need for chalk a rare occaision, so have gotten in the habit of never having it with me. Smith is the only place that I feel I ever need it.
