Dang, they shot a black bear in the University District:

I wonder how the poor guy got there. Frat house prank?
No need...nice job. It was a good show I'm not that much of a snob...I only paid $5 for a great slide show and beer, so I really don't have any complaints.
and actually, I think Hermann Buhl - Nanga Parbat Pilgrimage is one of the best mountaineering books i've read. If you look up "badass" in the dictionary, it says "Hermann Buhl".
is there anything else?
i guess i'm naive in thinking that by speaking up we might improve our lot. perhaps it makes sense in some cases, but not in all...so thus if it is the case that it is better nothing is said, then do share.
Are you a part of the FCC? It would good to share info with the WCC if there is a better strategy. We all want the same thing I think...to maintain our access and not make bigger issues at the same time.
there a still a few badasses out there. you don't have to be the first one to climb something to be the badass (not that i'm saying beckey isn't one)
i can say this because definitively, if spray were summits, I would be badass.
See the Delicate Arch thread. Do you think that group is going to shut up? Think again...some people just feel like speaking up if they see perceived or real injustice. Imagine the day when it didn't cost anything to camp at Vantage...well you have to do that today (pay). I don't think climbing will drive change at Vantage as much as the Gorge will.
Now Lucky, don't you think it is funny that you're raising a ruckus about people raising a ruckus?
