The snowskate was originally invented by a Stevens Pass local, Steve Franke. As everybody knows, skateboarding is harder than all the snow sports combined, the lack of bindings, fancy boots and poles seem to preclude most from glory. Snowboarders bored with 60 foot gaps and switch 1080's find that snow skating is just plain fun.

Just do what we did in Skykomish...grow your own! The local Sky crew leased a barn and built quite the indoor skateboard facility. A private climbing wall is not much different... just find 10 friends, some cheap real estate to use on a long term basis, 500 holds and somebody's old boombox.

While spending the better part of my young life in Alaska, I had the fortune to taste some seal meat prepared the old fashioned way, somke dried and hung on a stick. Seal jerky if you will, the taste was not bad, a little gamey, much like eating sled dog.

I put what information I had out there. This is what is known: John Roshalt was living in Scottsdale AZ. He spent his free time developing new routes in the surrounding area. In the first part of Jan, John left for what appeared to be a short trip to Vegas. Phone records and ATM transactions stopped on the 19th of that month. The thing about John is he is smart, internet poker and stock day trading were enough to let him get by. There is a mystery at the heart of this, and the main thing I keep telling myself is: I don't know anything.

The crack is not the point! John is a friend of many and he has been missing for two months. His sister is searching for him, His friends are very worried.

John Rosholt has been missing since mid January. He left Scottsdale for a trip to Vegas and has not turned up. Any information about John would be appreciated, there is a dedicated group of his friends keeping a thread about John on RC.com. RC. com John Roshalt Thread Photo taken 2001, LG

Good thread! The most toproped 5.13 in Washington, City Park is still hard after all these years. A testpiece that stands apart, Even on a busy Saturday, no wait in line.... Strength is meaningless in the face of unrelenting pain. Lowering from the swank anchors, your thoughts flush with recent sucess, fingers lightly brushing the crack, you desend A finger slips into a bomber lock, you call for tension. "I'll try from here, watch me dude..."

I saw them live, the bigfoot suit would have come in handy. most people in the crowd were kinda dazzled but confused by a band dressed as bunnys singing about robots. They did a smokin' cover of "seven nation army" by the White Stripes, Wayne sung thru a megaphone. Any of you guys have a copy of Zareka? (sic)

Wild Sky: new Washington wilderness area

Fairweather, your views are not crazy, and your arguements interesting. Don't mistake my stance, I just tend to believe that green policys do not pull much weight around Washington DC right now. -

I just thought that I would write the president a short email concerning his progress and provided some constructive ideas to toss around the staff meetings. Prehaps you should do the same.... president@whitehouse.gov

Wild Sky: new Washington wilderness area
lancegranite replied to Chriznitch's topic in Access Issues
I believe that the wilderness thing will be null and void soon anyway... how can we have wilderness if there is nobody being paid to protect it? Fairweather, I think many of us agree with the principals of goverment leaving us alone and freedom to explore this country as we see fit. We just want to do our thing like everyone else... Sadly, this administration is opening the door to allow his oil, gas, and mining friends to have their way with your forests, water and air. In the end, I would rather have wilderness that I cannot "use" than have "public land" that gets leased to the highest bidder, who then plows, cuts and kills everything just so I can wipe my ass with a little square of extra soft paper. -

A friend of mine took the wipper on City Park P2...hit the ledge and bounced off. I wonder if he would like to see a new bolt? As a fellow height challenged climber, I appreciate the crusty spinning 1/4'' relic. It gives me the confidence to pull the wierd, reachy crux, I think I backed it up with 2 wires last time...
