  1. I don't like Moore at all. but I agree with justin. Moore isn't buying votes for Kerry, He's buying votes from people who would vote for Kerry. There may be grounds or charges becase of the silly-assed oath. The Republicans just want to put Moore behinmd bars. Personally, I'd like to see the fat bastard behind bars. He should share a cell with Rush Limbaugh.
  2. I was goign to stash them for next year.
  3. I have found 200 cm BD Arc Angels on sale for $110. My goal is AT skiing, would these be a good fit for my fatass?
  4. Stubai makes a shovel that looks a lot like the old ice axe shovels from BD. LINK I couldn't get it to link directly, so you have to click the "Products" link, then the "Avalanche Probes and Shovels" link. Scroll to the bottom of the resulting window.
  5. I bet there will be a lot of loose rock.
  6. You should always get as much info about a route before you go. That will enable you to pare down your rack as much as possible. Nelson suggests a superlight rack on his sight: Superlight Rack I have been meaning to try it out, but I am one of those people who always brings too much gear. I'm a big fan of the DMM cams. They have a nice action and they are quite a bit lighter than Camalots. Nelson even says that the largest DMM cam weighs less than a #11 hex. I also like the new Mammut super-skinny slings. I will bring 6-8 of those equipped with lightweight 'biners and 2-3 tied doubles. I can cut up the doubles for rap slings on the way down if need be.
  7. B&L can't do anything on a respectable budget anymore. That's correct. What isn't correct is that "they're screwed" "Boeing and Lockheed are here to guzzle your tax dollars." think about that next time you fly anywhere.
  8. Rutan can innovate, but he can't produce. That's why Boeing and Lockheed are here. He makes cutting edge designs that aren't commercially viable (for the most part) otherwise you would see them in the skies. It's funny that Rutan assumes Boeing and Lockheed couldn't do what he did.
  9. Did anybody ever see the Drew Carey show? Buzz beer? Cap-beer-cino?
  10. Let me just clear this up for everyone - the Republicans and all other conservatives really are hate-mongering fear merchants who want to oppress everyone in an effort to make the wealthy wealthier. They want less gun control so that criminals can murder your family and the drug dealers, who the conservatives originally established to further oppress the lower classes, can further their own business goals. They oppose gay marriage and abortion because they all hear the voice of God in their heads telling them to. The conservative plans to drill for oil in protected areas has nothing to do with America's lust for gas, it's merely a ploy so that they can pave all of the US. One more thing - all conservatives drive huge energy-guzzling SUV's that run only on puppies and kittens.
  11. Camilo pulls through with an amazing cock-block.
  12. It might be a good idea to start with a search for the route. The search button can be found in the bar just below the cc.com logo.
  13. That catalog kicks ass. Thanks for posting the link.
  14. I keep my Bible in a pool of blood so that none of it's lies will infect me. -Tom Araya Right now it's Chimaira - The Impossibility of Reason
  15. I went home and sharpened the tools last night. Sides of the new Cascade picks are already beveled. All I had to fix was the front bottom side. You can see the big block that Grivel left in the pic I first posted. I will wait before I modify the picks anymore. Right now my plans are to play on some glacial ice, so super-accurate gnarly-mcbadass tools are not necessary. Thanks for the input folks.
  16. Here's a LINK Describing how sharpen ice screws at home.
  17. This is my first time sharpening Ice tools from scratch. This is what I found online: and the LINK I have Cascade picks on Tech Wings. Aside from following the recommended geometry, is there anything else I should do? I know the risks of using a grinder on tempered metal. I will be using a bastard file.
  18. One thing about overseas companies: I was hit with an import tarriff for the Tech Wings I bought at Barrabes.com. It was 4% plus a $5 "tarriff forwarding charge" from DHL. Barrabes sent me a coupon for 4% off my next purchase. -<shrug>-
  19. Squamish. I was climbing with a friend who really pushes my fat ass. He urged me up some .10a's and .10b's. Mr. Climber Guy soloed The Zip (.10a) while we gaped. Bill, was that you? On Sunday we climbed Diedre with a multipitch virgin and a couple of other friends.
  20. -spray-
  21. Mossberg?
  22. I think you need to bring a job with you.
  23. What about activist legislators? Who gets to tell them "no"? It used to be the activist judges...
  24. I think I now understand spray just a little more. I wanted to write a witty response to this asinine post, but all that came out when I started tapping away on my keyboard was "JACKASS".
  25. The Tapeworm is one of my favorite trails. It's not very fast, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. Too bad they did a story on it.
