  1. Mossberg?
  2. I think you need to bring a job with you.
  3. What about activist legislators? Who gets to tell them "no"? It used to be the activist judges...
  4. I think I now understand spray just a little more. I wanted to write a witty response to this asinine post, but all that came out when I started tapping away on my keyboard was "JACKASS".
  5. The Tapeworm is one of my favorite trails. It's not very fast, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. Too bad they did a story on it.
  6. I was on the side of Canon on Sunday and we kept getting buzzed by a rescue chopper. When we got back to the TH we learned about the rescue. BTW - what is the accepted sign that you DO NOT need help when signalling a chopper hovering overhead?
  7. All joking aside, this is very well put.
  8. But more importantly, will holding the chains invalidate my 8a.nu points?
  9. Congrats on your first alpine experience.
  10. I have never skied or snowboarded before, but I would like to get into it this year. My focus is AT so that a future skiing addiction can assist my current climbing addiction. Should I buy or rent? Any recommended equipment? I saw the Dynafit Comforts being recommended on another thread, are they suitable for a beginner? What kind of costs am I going to incur? I'm a big guy, I know some gear won't work as well as others. ME: 6'3" 250lbs size 15 feet I know that these questions don't encompass everything I will need to consider. i'm just trying to get an idea right now. Thanks y'all

Hooks are aid. Wait a second...
  12. You guys are really making this alpine thing sound like fun.
  13. Training definitely means practice. For some reason everything on this board is taken waaayyyy too seriously. This poll is only to satisfy my curiosity. You won't be tested later.
  14. Opening beer. Did one of the kids make off with it?
  15. Training is training whether it is from a book or from the AMGA. Advanced training would probably involve using gear that you normally wouldn't climb with. Things like litters and massive pulleys. It would also need training on complex rigging systems.
  16. Check all that apply. Crevasse Rescue and Escaping the Belay are self-explanatory. Basic Vertical would include z-pulley stacks and hauling an unconscious climber. Advanced would be helicopter rescues, hoists, rigging, etc... More like Mountain Rescue training.
  17. You know me, always out to misinform the masses. BTW - Sim's proposed income tax was quoted on NPR to be the highest in the nation. Maybe the overall tax burden of other states is higher, but I did specifically say INCOME TAX. And beyond that - Where are your facts? Thinking is good, but knowing is better.
  18. Don't forget that the new income tax will be the highest in the country. Didn't Sims give us two xstadiums that we (as a county) didn't want?
  19. PMS is th eclosest, but if they are out, I will investigate the others.
  20. I just got a pair of Stubai ultralight crampons, and they are not big enough. Does Stubai make a longer extender bar? Where can I get a set? I think Alpinfox recommended using any long bar. I tried the BD Contact bar and it is too thick for the opening. The Stubai bar also seems to flex a bit more which would put less stress on the aluminum. I may have to make my own bar, but I would prefer to buy a set.
