  1. Or you can sell the 181's to me.
  2. If you are only interested in setting pitons and not climbing on them, go to a talus field. Pound away. Keep the pitons tied to something. I lost 2 when removing them. If you actually want to climb on them, well, I dunno. There's the quarry at Index. You may still get lynched. Vantage is a pile of choss. Hammer away!
  3. oh, snap!
  4. Stink eye is not the same as evil eye.
  5. kids, kids, they are just cams. really. get over it. You will not climb harder routes now that you have retired those old Wired Bliss and Clog units. Oly is straight pimpin

No shit! it is cold out here!
  9. I don't know of anything climbable over 1 ropelength on the lower Coleman. In fact, most of the stuff I've been on there is maybe 30m. I have seen some spots that might be long enough to need a midpoint belay, but those walls are pretty unstable.
  10. who couldn't click the link!?
  11. I would like to start skiing this year, and I only want to buy one pair of boots. My final goal is to put together an AT setup with some Dynafits. Here's my problem - finding a Dynafit compatible boot in US 15. I've looked around, but I can't find anything. The Scarpa Matrix comes in Mondo 32, but they say it's a 14, not 15. If that's not an option, what about other AT boot/bindings systems? Does anyone support size 15 feet? Thanks y'all
  12. Keep in mind that a protected fall can still result in an injury. A friend fell off the lieback on Godzilla and caught his foot behind the rope as he well. He wrecked his ankle. The fall was on steep ground without hitting anything, and he still got hurt. Had he been alone in the alpine environment, he would have been screwed.
  13. Same thread every year. I've spent a lot on gloves, trying to find something that's truly waterproof. I've given up. Most times I wear some Dachstein wool mittens. If it's windy I put some OR overmitts on. I've seen SealSkins which claim to be waterproof, but I've never tried them. The only thing I've found that is truly waterproof are rubber gloves. Youo can get some bitchin insulated gloves at fisherman's supply store. They are sometimes called freezer gloves.
  14. I usually go with "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, fuck!" Sometimes I change it up "Fuck yeah mother fuckers!"
  15. My biggest beef with tis law is that there is no room for compromise. It is possible to have a smoking section that doesn't waft into the rest of the establishment. Barring a special room, an owner could set up some covered areas outside so that the smokers can dodge out for a smoke. I know a lot of smokers and this arrangement doesn't seem to bother them. My self-interest is more important than your self-interest. BTW - I'm not a smoker either, and I hate cigarette smoke.
  16. start your planning at www.nwac.org to get the latest on snow conditions. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... I doubt that you will find any ice in the area. Most of our rock is soaking wet right now. I would also be concerned about avy danger. We are getting a lot of snow in the mountains and it hasn't had time to consolidate. This is where some hardman posts a reply to call me a pussy.

  19. You still get to pay for our viaduct!
  20. I doubt this tax will ever go away. They will see that the monorail debt is paid up and the money is "available". What is the next pet project that the Seattle taxpayers will have to finance?
  21. Have you noticed that the lawmakers aren't concerned so much with whether or not price gouging occured, and more concerned about how to get at that money?
  22. "what you talkin' about Willis?"
  23. Shit, I missed almost all of you. I saw Oly, Alpinfox, and Alpinedave, but that's it. I've posted pics of myself, the least y'all could do is tell me to f_ck off.

    Folded?

    That thing scares me,
  25. This thread reminds me of a study I read a while back. Men tend to believe that they can lose weight by increasing activity without changing what they eat. Women tend to think that they can lose weight by reducing intake and maintaining their current level of activity. The truth is in the middle. Make it a point to workout hard at least 3 times a week. Team sports make it seem less like work and more like fun. Most co-ed league sports need women, so it shouldn't be too hard to find something to do. Be sure to go for at least one good hike or climb every weekend. Cragging doesn't count. YOu will be outside enjoying the weather and getting exercise. Yo ucan hook up with folks on the evil cc.com (nwhikers.com) to find partners. Get out and get fit
