  1. Yuck. Turtle heads.
  2. All good points, but equalizing even just 3 pieces takes some experience with finessing knots and runners, even with a cordalette. It is a little bit more involved than placing gear. And I think most of you guys would agree that even when you can build a good SRENE anchor, it takes a little bit of an eye to spy out the pimping placements, no?
  3. Yeah, my bad. I'll see if I can find that info.
  4. oh yeah, I guess that wouldn't make a good first trad lead. This could lead to thread drift.. Question: should you know how to construct an anchor when you start trad leading?
  5. Go do Moscow. Fun climb, and there's not a bolt anywhere near it. (do the direct "variation" as it eats gear and is more fun than the sideways option) Don't know if it's a good first trad lead, though. But it is a fun climb. The views are nice.
  6. Isn't she like 15 years old? She's prob'ly gonna be set for life if she plays it right. The doll's pretty funny, but good for her if she can make enough dough not to worry. (altho I'm so jealous it makes me sick.)
  7. You can read all about the history of how exactly hydrogenated oils got into the american food supply in "Fatland" Depressing.
  8. MAX IMPACT FORCE!!! EXTREME DUDE!!!
  9. We have nice grown up dinner parties, and discover the inner workings of the universe so we can build weapons of unimaginable destructive power to GET BACK AT YOU JOCKS FOR PICKING ON US BRAINS IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!! And sometimes we sing songs together, and have converstaions about physics.
  10. Got it! Still, that is a weird photo.
  11. Yeah, seriously, if you're still reminiscing about how great high school was in your 40's, you need to get out more. High school was a total fucking nightmare for me, and I couldn't wait to get the fuck out of that undifferentiated ego mass that demanded conformity.(that nugget is from Family Guy,heheh...)
  12. Really? Ice cubes freeze from the outside in? Because in my freezer, I can have a thin layer of ice on top of not yet frozen water, which would seem to indicate that they freeze from the oustide in, and not vice versa. (that's my big college sounding word for the day, vice versa)
  13. I have seen this too. I think that differential cooling on the exterior creates internal pressure that forces the liquid H20 out through small fissures in the surface, at which point it freezes. I think that this dynamic probably occurs anywhere ice envelops liquid water... But water expands as it freezes. It's actually most dense at 4 deg C when it's in this weird slushy kind of icy kind of state. I guess I don't understand.
  14. Except in the US and Japan. And Korea.
  15. you might be surprised. I hear she is an expert on semiconductor physics Hey that's what I went to grad school for!!!!
  16. Jason, I lived in Boulder for 5 years, and I was in theaters where that sort of thing would actually happen. It was pretty crazy. And hilarious. (there used to be a theater downtown that played "Stop Making Sense" every Saturday at midnight, The audience would get totally out of control. Booze, weed, beers. It was fucking awesome)
  17. ouch!!! No fucking way.
  18. Fuckin A that's fucking for fucking sure! FUCK!
  19. Yeah, besides a front butt is WAAAAAAAYYYYYY worse than a big butt. front butts are gross. eewww....
  20. I had one of those once when I was 15. Had a fever for 4 days before anybody figured out what it was. That was fucking rough.

  22. Hey I'm thinking about maybe going and doing some bouldering at Smiffy this weekend...somebody keep in touch, we should hook up for some beverages at least. Or you could watch me flail and then beer, either way is cool.
