Easier than grad school and probably just about as useful.

Actually DSB = Dreaded Semen Backup. Thought you knew that. So, tell me, when you join the military do they just yank your brains out through your nose with a rusty coat hanger and stuff testosterone soaked rags back in? Sure seems that way from here.
-
Someone's apparently suffering from a little springtime DSB.

old school: def. that which the new school finds too difficult to do (possibly the result of too much brain damage caused by crushing their nuts on a rail in the terrain park)

2-day mogul camp at Whistler. It looked like Christmas there with all the snow coming down...or...what Christmas *should* have looked like there......

If you remove the organized economics that supports things like energy production, then you immediately find yourself in a situation where billions of people are going to want to start chopping down trees to for cooking and heating. We'd probably deforest the planet in less than a year. Clever plan. Reminds me of Platonic and Marxian political systems: this will work if we can get these impossible, magical conditions to exist and then sustain it.

Is anybody out there not having a good time?

My wife's noticed that. Back home, she's a medium, here, she's an extra small.... And to think we used to make jokes about the tank-like wives of Communist party leaders....

And who were the poor bastards who did the testing?

Maybe you could describe the experiment a bit more.

I've been wondering why this whole thread makes me a bit....ill.

I'm not saying they have a message I like, simply that they've been doing a much better job of organizing, marketing, positioning, and attacking the left. The Dems have missed too many opportunities to attack the Republicans and dozens of domestic issues that it makes me think they lack the will to fight.
-
If I've said it before, I'll say it again, you can't really blame the Republicans as being the sole reason why a Democrat didn't get elected. If the Dems had fielded an inspiring candidate with great ideas, they wouldn't need phone banks to 'get out the vote'. In the last few years, the Dems have lost any ability to inspire anyone. At the same time, the Republicans have managed to wield cohesiveness by having a message, by staying on message, and taking the initiative. Whether you like their message is another matter entirely.

Dude, I'm being silly and thinking of something that would allow you to float up into the air, not float to the top of an avalanche dumping tons of snow on you, which would be even more silly.
-
Agreed, avoidance is the key. As for balloon technology, wouldn't it be better to have a rapidly inflatable balloon on your back? Then you could just float out of harm's way and not worry about being buried in tons of snow. Some people might use it incorrectly though like for helping them summit or getting past that tricky crux....

Hell, boy, you call that bitch fest? You aren't even suffering yet. Call us when you have a real grad student suffer-fest and not any of this whinging poofta-sounding nonsense.

I feel so...so....unclean now.

a) who cares? b) apparently you're too dumb to know what goes in spray and what doesn't, so that doesn't bode well for your wet dreams to become a moderator

If you've ever been to Mammoth, you'll have seen the signs warning about hazardous CO2 levels in certain areas as well as sections of forest killed off by volcanic outgassing. The Long Valley area is an area of concern for many earth scientists, most of whom are trying to figure not 'if' the caldera will erup again, but 'when'.
