In other news, outside of Kabul, the Defense Department gave a demonstration of it's new low-cost Armored Mine Sweeper and 'Salad' Spinner. Designed by Halliburton, each unit costs approximately 16.7 million USD, a price which a DoD spokesman described as 'a bargain, really'. The DoD is said to have plans to acquire over 1000 units initially, along with a substantial 20 year 'service contract'.

I guess I could use it for a few years until it becomes bleached by UV radiation and has a few punctures in it before I take it back.

I haven't been watching it that long and I've been mostly buying mountaineering stuff lately and not Nixon watches or sunglasses or day packs. :-P I also don't snowboard, and I don't think I haven't made any kind of move towards needing AT stuff. I'm not that good a skier yet. My main goal now is to get back into mountaineering. Most of what I need I don't think I'll ever see there. It's kind of like waiting for them to put C4 Camalots on sale for 25% off.......
