Yeah, I got some Julbo's from them last year. Hoping to find a good excuse for them this year. Was thinking Peru but am trying to save cash so I can stop being an apartment dweller. My wife, curse her, was telling me 'you should go'. :-P Thanks again for the link. I've lost at least two pairs of clipons I think

Doood. Do you have these? I guess you do otherwise you wouldn't give it the double thumb's up eh. :-P

I need some custom clipon sunglasses for my new glasses but can't seem to find a source for them in Seattle. I tried Seattle Eye MD's on Pine St but they have to take them away for a week!!! argh.

You don't say what you *don't* have. One option is to get one of their package deals for cams. That way you get several cams at 20% off rather than 20% off of one if you bought them individually. After that, don't go there anymore. I've been a long time REI member and I find I can always find stuff cheaper elsewhere.

I don't know if things are much better at other stores. The people at Marmot Mountain Works in Berzerkely were invariably knowledgeable, and very helpful, but they also paid everyone very low wages which they tried to make up for by giving employee discounts on gear but, given the wages, no one could afford the gear. :-P

Said by a former colleague of mine from the south: "Well dip me in shit and roll me in peanuts!"

The problem with "The Media" isn't that they are either liberal or conservative, it is simply that they have devolved into a a bunch of ambulance chasers and human interest goons. There are no more budgets for investigative journalism. Spending money on such things does not sit well with 'shareholders'. If the media is so liberal, why are they so easily distracted by any stupid noise about Bush's war record and not focusing on real substantive issues? Thus, I submit, in this age the question of bias in the media is irrelevant. They aren't providing information, they are providing distractions and entertainment. They are our modern 'bread and circuses'.

The only people I know who take cold showers like that are a couple of model friends of mine and they only do it to keep their breasts nice and perky. ... ... ...

Other versions on the web indicate that there was additional information in the pack that led police to believe it was for a drug buy. Whether you believe that or not is another issue. If you were living in a dinky town with a crappy job and found $500K, would it be such a big deal to move? As for six degress of separation, I went to high school with Steve Letourneau. We all remember him don't we? I forgot about him until I saw his face in magazine one day.....

Heck, I'd get it if I thought I'd ever get to the Greater Ranges...

You'd rather they sit around being what you perceive middle aged ladies to be or that they get out and try new things and be active human beings, even if they don't climb 5.13c?

I guess she got her sandwich....

I bought it a couple of days ago and I'm not through drooling on it yet. They have it at Feathered Friends

Tim, I'm new in the area (sort of, been here a year) and am still looking around for a partner. I don't really do the indoor climbing thing as I did it for 2 years at my last job and got a bit sick of it. My main passions are alpine and multipitch trad. I'm probably an OS 5.8-5.9 climber at the moment but give me month or so and I could probably be in the 5.10 range. Have heaps of gear. Just turned 41. :-P PhD (earth science), lived overseas (sweden, australia). Just have the new Bugaboos guide and haven't finished drooling yet. ;-) My wife has lots of classes until the end of the summer then she's going home to visit her family so this is a good summer for me to get out a lot.
