  1. Saw the "Old Breed" featuring local Steve Swenson. Best climbing vid I saw in a long time, a great story. NWO just shows why I stopped watching these thing (I am guilty of making a few myself). Showing a bunch of climbing shots with music doesn't really make a film.
  2. Posting picture as a reply to some else's post is on the same wave frequency as "like" button for a question that requires answer.
  3. I am on a filmmakers group on FB. Guy asks for info and contacts in Africa, asia for "fixer" info and driving company, which can make or brake production. Some deepshit presses "like" button. WTF? I mean what to "like" if a guy is asking about specific info!? Unless it's a rhetorical question pressing "like" button just proves you have no idea about language itself.
  4. check your pm
  5. Because they friggin lose bags! If I fly to LV for 3 days and my bag gets lost, I guess your climbing trip will turn into drinking and gambling trip pretty fast! Cost is another thing, but most of trips people book a flight are a week or under and if the bag gets lost your trip will turn to shit fast.
  6. The only issue you might have is your nut tool.
  7. ukclimbing.com made it as a Friday nighter: Friday Night Movie feels good
  8. The counter turned 12.5 K viewers!
  9. Steve Swenson is working on a book, which will include the history and insight to this conflict. It might seem pointless to us here (in the good old USA), but we can't project our way of thinking onto everyone. It's a very complex socio-political issue, with huge historical background. I think at least trying to understand some of the issues at hand would be a good start for the State Department, and for us here. The avalanche is a great tragedy- imagine what the media would be doing, if 130 people died in such incident, but went virtually unnoticed by US main stream media.
  10. yes, indeed a great tragedy!
  11. good one Jon! Seems that not too long ago same logic was used in selling $450K homes in Las Vegas. Well, you can pick the same house for under 100K now. Grouse is near Vancouver, Whistler has a whole tourist infrastructure. Squamish is a toilet pit stop between the two. The same logic was regarding Kicking Horse, which is hardly able to pay the bills at the moment.
  12. Congratulations to boh of you! Just a side note: since you rapped the technical rating should include A0 to describe the technical difficulties of the route.
  13. Don, I must disagree- more is not necessary better. There are already opportunities both in Whistler and above Vancouver for gondola rides, lift supported skiing and mountain biking. The impact of this venture is going to be painful for everyone and far reaching. Think about the constant helicopter noise for one. Habrich and Pilot already have access, the gate has been open and you can drive in with 4x4, also I made that hike 2 times and it is not that bad. I think this project is a horrible idea over all. The worst (I predict) are going to be consequences, when it goes tits up- who is going to clean all the rusting shit up? I mean where do they get the numbers? 500 000 riders/a year? Dream on (particularly $30/ride). For that price I predict more like 50 000.
  14. Thanks for all the views by cc visitors!
  15. Kind of funny argument about skinny fingers. Remember, he has half of normal reach!
  16. BTW, it would be interesting to see if anyone could name all the routes (at least areas where they are) in this video? Let the contest begin! (Naming Canadian Rockies or Red Rocks doesn't count- have to be area specific).
  17. Thanks for kind words, this vid would not be possible without help of a lot of people. It's kind of incredible, that he actually sent the route when I was filming. I am glad you guys liked it.

  21. http://www.climbing.com/news/hotflashes/gasherbrum_i_climbed_in_winter/ There are only 3 8000m peaks left.
  22. Oh, how I missed this place! 14 pages of useless drivel.
  23. Started riding at Whistler last summer. Yes, it is a high risk activity, but a lot of accidents are due to stupidity and not developing proper technique. I usually ride at about 75% and rode 36 days without any fractures.
  24. In general life is dangerous, particularly food: "But more than 910,000 Americans still die of heart disease annually, according to the American Heart Association. And more than 70 million Americans live every day with some form of heart disease, which can include high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, stroke, angina (chest pain), heart attack and congenital heart defects." Percentage wise people are more likely to die from heart attack, stroke or diabetic complications, then all the risky activities combined.
