  1. I'll be selling wildflowers off the back of my snowmo in Jeff Park this weekend.
  2. It was me. I just carry the Wilderness Boundary sign on front so I never cross it. A few 'bilers ruin for all the others, for the most part we're cool.
  3. Bring skis for sure. It's been nuking hot up there the last few days. Looks like much cooler temps this weekend though.
  4. I'll hike in with you Sat super early if your down. I have to move on Sunday, Mellie's orders. I could bring in all your Bud Light, and maybe a pizza or something.
  5. You make sure to do that. What day are you headed there?
  6. Hell yeah, good times were had. Couldn't have had better weather, snow conditions or lack of other peeps. It's fun to own a mountain all to yourself. I'm sure the huge avy crown has kept some away, good thing we drove in at night. Thanks Timmy.
  7. It's White Satin.
  8. I'm all over it. Let's just simul-solo it in clown suits. Maybe we can get on the cover of National Geographic.
  9. I was back on Middle last weekend. Everything is melted out that I saw. Possibly the N or NW side of S. Sister has some ice left but I doubt it. Shit is melting quite fast. On a more positive note all the routes back there look pretty good, a bit of runneling on the Thayer HW and Early Morning C. Are you planning on getting out this weekend? Do you have skis/board for descent? PM me when you get a chance, I live in Bend as well. It's as steep as you wanna be, snow not ice though.
  10. It used to be uncrowded, but now thanks to Trip Reports/photos on easy multi-pitch routes those days are over. From now until Aug. every weekend is packed over there. And then of course you get the idiots that decide that rapping DOWN Thin Air is easier than walking off. First of all you hit the climbers below you with your rope, and 2nd you will probably get your rope stuck.
  11. Comparing Blodgett to limestone fins is a little silly. I lived there about 7-8 years ago and climbed at both of those places quite a bit. The climbs don't really get good until you start putting up the 10's and 11's. And one must be into edgy, balancy friction climbing. Mulky Marathon is really good along with Green Dragon?. Rattler's is a bit more spread out, St. Louis Direct is a really cool 5.9+. You have to understand where Raf was coming from at that time, he was just trying to get those areas started. Blodgett is a multi-pitch, medium wall-climing gem, and those places are straight-up cragging. When did you live there? Josh
  12. Looks like Mrs. Crawford is the new tow queen at Paulina. Hopefully she keeps it under 45 and out of the trees. You better practice or your gonna ride on the back fulltime. Great photos, great times Timmy. Can't express how lucky I am that your back. Thanks bro.
  13. J. Bouchard just turned 54 on Patty's day and he's still cranking rock pretty hard. Last fall he was redpointing 11's at Smith, made me feel like perserverence pays off.
  14. Congrats Dude, kid looks huge! Having him start shooting free throws now.
  15. Cascade Motorsports, also some outfit out of Sisters doing tours. I think it's 3SBC.com, something like that. A bunch of places out of Sunriver, Advanced Perf. Rental and Central Oregon Adventures. We just got a bunch of new heavy snow overnight- can you say AVALANCHE.
  16. Climb: -11 O' clock couloir Date of Climb: 2/25/2006 Trip Report: With the climbing conditions primo the last 2 weekends and very little new snow in the Sisters area, figured routes in the crater would be somewhat safe. Letsroll was in town partying so we agreed to leave the sno-park by 7 or 8. On time, loaded up the sled with packs/skis/board and cuddled for the 15-20 minute approach ride. Skinned into the crater on wind-affected snow, and numerous other types of wintery white(windbuff, icy, crusty, etc). Took it mellow, admiring the numerous random mixed lines all over the inside of the crater bowl. (other reason we should of had a camera, sorry guys)There's a bunch of doable lines to the S. summit of Broken Top due to the snowpack, pretty spicy though. Also 9'O clock looks pretty fun, steeper up top but short and narrow. High Noon looks doable, but bold. From sled to the base of the couloir took just under 2 hours. Didn't look as windloaded as anticipated, and a break in the cornice up top- go time. Roped up and simul climbed to beneath a rock shelf, probably 500' or so. Max angle was 50-55 degrees with good climbing conditions, pretty consistent. I wouldn't say neve but good 'pooning and no hollow sound. Belayed Letsroll on the next pitch-around the rockshelf and up to the notch in the ridge, he had to excavate for good pickets but solid, starts at 45 degrees and goes to 50+. Ridge was rime on sugar. Did I mention that we decided to climb w/ skis/board? Made it more interesting. Temps were rising, wouldn't want to be on that route later than that, upper part was getting soft. The Notch is a really cool spot, killer views and flat. Snacks, ditch boards. When then passed through the notch and started climbing on the oppostite side, traversing. As we traversed the slope over to the NW ridge it was painfully obvious that the whole slope(35-40)was a rimey, sugary wallow. Not difficult, but relying on your upper tool was a joke and the runout is ugly. Decided to bail and ski/ride the lower W. face, been to the summit before. Shitty conditions, icy and rimey. What ya expect? Survival skied over to the base of the SW face and then rode more shitty conditions to the bottom. Still better than booting out of there, saved a ton of time. Up and over a ridge and then skinned back to the sled, probably just over an hour. I think we got back to the sled around 3-3:30. Toblerone and peanut butter, the new snack of kings. Sugar buzz and two stroke power energize us back to the truck and beer. Great trip, really good route. It's short but I was really suprised how steep it got. Will needs to ski it next time, would be worthy for sure. Gear Notes: tools, poons, helmet 60 m, 4 pickets skis/skins/splitboard should had a camera Approach Notes: Snowmo to Wilderness Boundary. Interesting riding double with 6'5" partner.
  17. Hey GK, Nice work sweeping the U.S. Masturbation Open again, 4th year running. It must be all that FREE climbing that gives you the edge.
  18. All of the above, good climbing conditions as of Sunday. Shitty skiing conditions.
  19. That board sounds a bit big for you. Really depends on what your terrain your planning on riding. Wide open bowls/or glades will be fine, especially with deep pow. Tight trees or steep chutes are gonna be a bitch with a board that big. Voile makes a 159, that would fit you better. I'm pretty sure you got the Freeride, I don't think Mt. Gun's come in 166, just 161. As far as boots/binding, just use your resort set-up for now, to get used to it all. Strap bindings work just find for skin mode. But it does take some practice. Practice your transition at home before you brave the elements, it'll save you time. I've got it down to about 5 minutes, even in wind. Get yourself some collapsible(sp) poles so you can put them in your pack on the way down. Forget the ice axe, but you'll need poles for skinning/booting. Remember, if it's too steep put the boards on your back and hike, it's safer. Also consider putting tail clips on your skins, they'll last a lot longer. It'll pay to learn how to take care of your skins, treat them kindly. I've been splitting for 3 seasons now and have learned a lot through trial/error. Feel free to pm with any questions/concerns you have, I'd be happy to help. I just put tail clips on and could walk you through it. Have fun!
  20. It's currently 5 degrees in Redmond not even counting the wind. I think tomorrow the high is in the 20's. Coldest temps I can remember in a long time around here.
  21. No overnight parking from Tue 6pm-Wed 6 am, also Thur 6pm-Fri 6 am. If you park in there during those times it won't be a piece of paper, just no car. Bring beer/trade to catch a ride with the 'bilers.

Good to have ya back fuck-stain.
  23. Sure thing, you got the first pitch. It should come in this year, once all this powder starts melting. BC this weekend eh?
  24. Where is that? Somewhere on Middle? 3 Sisters Report: Feet of snow, needs to settle for a bit before anything goes. The approach would be slog even with skis. Clear sky and heavy winds crossloading snow today. Backcountry riding is going off.
  25. As a matter of fact I do. Just for shit like that. We got enough people interested now, maybe we should look at setting something up. Depending on group size sled shuttling can be doable. Sounds like a good # of people are interested in making turns?
