  1. and there's always Gingko...
  2. Mt. Hood Brewing Pittock. 8.5% (or so) and oh so drinkable Terminal Gravity IPA Hair of the Dog Fred (which comes with a disclaimer, "you know what you're getting, right?") just to name a few. No Canadan beer can come close to touching these gems. though I gotta admit, I loved Strange Brew!
  3. he's trying for it today... and this thread reminds me of the scene from Office Space... you know the one I'm talking about
  4. The S200 is $240 at Dell Small Business right now. Why buy on eBay when you can buy from a reputable business for $10 more?
  5. your theory is baseless because I'm not a goat

  9. You mean I'm not alone? Is there a group down towards PDX?
  10. I have the Canon S200 (2.0 mp, 2x zoom), and it's worked great. It takes better pics than the Pentax Optio S and Casio Exilim. It's certainly durable (I've got a few dents in the front, and the lens cover no longer shuts, but the camera still works fine), it can handle a little weather (note: it's not advertised as being weather proof), and it's certainly small and fairly lightweight. If weight and size are your primary concerns, I'd definately suggest the Optio S or Casio Exilim though. They're smaller and lighter, but as mentioned, the picture quality isn't as good as the Canon. Also, digital zoom is completely useless, don't use it as a consideration.
  11. So now reading constitutes experience? And no, I haven't read all of your replies dave t, they're just too long.

  16. I have the Osprey Ceres 50. I just used it for a two-day trip on Baker (we were planning on three), and it worked great. I've also used it for dayhikes where I had the thing cinched down to almost nothing.

  21. It's not that I don't have tolerance for people who move here (as I said, I have a lot of respect for person 1), I just don't have much tolerance for people who don't want (or are too lazy) to learn. If you move here, I feel you are obligated to at least make a solid attempt at learning the language.
  22. It's not that I don't have patience for people who move here, but damnit! English is the established language here, and if you want to live here, you should learn the established language! Just because you immigrate here doesn't mean you don't need to learn how to communicate with everyone else here. I work with a lot of people who moved here from Asia (China, Vietnam, Laos, etc.) I'll use two of them as examples. Person 1 hasn't been here very long but has a good grasp on the language. She listens to american radio stations and is constantly trying to learn. Person 2 can't communicate well at all (and has been here longer), listens to the Vietnamese radio station, and makes no attempt at learning English. I have a lot of respect for Person 1, I'm glad she came over. Person 2 just annoys me.
  23. everytime I go to a WaMu ATM, I have to select English. It pisses me off, too. Freakin' piece of crap! Learn the language or get the hell out of the country!
