  1. but it's a canadian patent... we laugh at canadian patents!
  2. now this is just hilarious!!!!
  3. a) we started looking for bin Laden 19 months ago, not 24 b) we invaded Iraq 8 weeks ago, not 2. c) in an earlier post, you mentioned 4000 popups. I counted 7 from 6 pages perhaps you wouldn't come off as such an idiot if you got your numbers right. you're about as credible as your hero boy, shrub.
  4. FS: Bush did not lie toptimmy: all politicians are liars FS: exactly...i have been sayign taht the entire time... UE: so FS, now you're saying that Bush *did* lie? FS: no! you're miscontruing my words! he never lied! this discussion is over
  5. I thought you've been saying that he hasn't lied...
  6. what part of "we have proof that they have WMD", and then not providing said proof do you not understand? "we have proof, but we need to find it first"? The point being they didn't have the proof when they made those statements.
  7. Bush made a claim and failed to produce evidence. I haven't been following the Dan saga, but it seems that people aren't believing his evidence. "You have WMD, and you have to prove that you don't or we'll come attack you" Now who sounds like Dan -?
  8. as I've said before, PROVE IT As I've said before, they've proven it by not providing the evidence they based their justification for war on.
  9. Trask: You're ignoring the fact that THEY LIED This is not about present or future. This is about past and actions that have already taken place.
  10. They lied because they made based statements on evidence that did not exist. The key words here are in the *past* tense. For the purposes of this argument, it doesn't matter that they're coming up with new evidence now. They said they had evidence that they did not have.
  11. Bush lied about this war because he said we had evidence we never had. If we have the evidence (which would support the entire war effort), why would he be hiding it? Should we be trusting him after he has shown he's a liar? "Leave no child behind"... only force them to cut 25 days off their school year because we're too busy funding a war we have no basis for.
  12. Where is the evidence that he *didn't* lie? If they had enough evidence to go to war about it, why haven't they found it yet?
  13. and will you also try and tell us that Iraq isn't about the oil?
  14. How is invading another country for no real reason "legal"? And if there was a real reason, where is it?
  15. umm, I do read news. We invaded a country and claimed it was for our own security.
  16. I think we've determined that both presidents lied, but at least our previous president didn't INVADE ANOTHER COUNTRY in the name of our own security. For all you people out there supporting Bush and criticizing Clinton, here's a question. How many people died because of the following lies: 1. I did not have sexual relations with that woman 2. Saddam has an advanced nuclear weapons program
  17. I spent the extra cash on the Ascents this past winter and I have never regretted it. The heel lifters are definately worth the extra money.
  18. the answer is always "c"
  19. I spent some time SE of Bend this past weekend, and we were up above 5000 ft for lots of the trip. It looked like there was snow high on Paulina Peak, but that was about it. There was no snow on the east side of Santiam, but as soon as we passed over it to the west side, there was snow on the hills.
  20. taken from: http://www.kgw.com/lifestyle/stories/kgw_050903_life_typing_monkeys.5034be.html Typing monkeys fail to produce Shakespeare 05/09/2003 By JILL LAWLESS, Associated Press Writer LONDON -- Give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, the theory goes, and they will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare. Give six monkeys one computer for a month, and they will make a mess. Researchers at Plymouth University in England reported this week that primates left alone with a computer attacked the machine and failed to produce a single word. "They pressed a lot of S's," researcher Mike Phillips said Friday. "Obviously, English isn't their first language." In a project intended more as performance art than scientific experiment, faculty and students in the university's media program left a computer in the monkey enclosure at Paignton Zoo in southwest England, home to six Sulawesi crested macaques. Then, they waited. At first, said Phillips, "the lead male got a stone and started bashing the hell out of it. "Another thing they were interested in was in defecating and urinating all over the keyboard," added Phillips, who runs the university's Institute of Digital Arts and Technologies. Eventually, monkeys Elmo, Gum, Heather, Holly, Mistletoe and Rowan produced five pages of text, composed primarily of the letter S. Later, the letters A, J, L and M crept in. The notion that monkeys typing at random will eventually produce literature is often attributed to Thomas Huxley, a 19th-century scientist who supported Charles Darwin's theories of evolution. Mathematicians have also used it to illustrate concepts of chance. The Plymouth experiment was funded by England's Arts Council and part of the Vivaria Project, which plans to install computers in zoos across Europe to study differences between animal and artificial life. Phillips said the results showed that monkeys "are not random generators. They're more complex than that. "They were quite interested in the screen, and they saw that when they typed a letter, something happened. There was a level of intention there."
  21. I'll be there either before or after I see the Matrix
  22. When and where? I'll go. If it's next Thursday though, I'll be watching the Matrix reloaded...
  23. what if I want to vote for both??
  24. So a more mature response would be to do what YOU think is right. Coming from Mr. Objective... "Mounties suck. I don't care what their excuses are for being stupid." "It's a distastefull combination of mediocre climbers trying to be cool by 'leading' classes full of wide eyed idiots that'd be better off if they stayed with their shiny cars." "Shouldn't they be golfing or something, climbing is dirty and dangerous. Waaaaaaaaay too scary for those suburbanites." "I wanted to climb and they were nice to me and let me, so I'm going to complain about it"
  25. How many PM's from desparate guys have you gotten already? (you should be receiving one from me shortly )
