  1. I haven't had any issues with mine over 10k. Yeah, there is lighter, but I can whip that thing out and boil my water before other people set their stoves up. It is just simple and easy.
  2. Bouldering is on the rise, as is climbing overall, thus freesoloing.
  3. High Mountain Woody. Stephanie's Tears. Banana Peel. Sole Mate with traverse to it. Backsack is awesome!!!!!! Fatty Bolger (the actual climb, not the crag) is a great TR if you are noobish like me(really interesting). One of my favorite climbs is Joe's Dyke on top of the Chief.
  4. I agree. Snowboarding saves my winters. I just focus on that now until climbing season is in. Yeah, the gyms blow up here.
  5. Black Peak is fun, and it's tall!
  6. Deidre was dry on Sunday.
  7. Wing Lake is one of the best places in the world
  8. I heard the Chinese army is posted up there plucking off Tibeten sherpas with rifles. Very Sad!
  9. Yeah, pretty snowy and the roads and trails are pretty beat up.
  10. I'd get strap ons. That way you can use them with your tennies
  11. I wear running shorts and softshell pants over them. Actually, I do that all year round.
  12. The best climbing at Squish is on the weekdays. The place is getting too infested with trendy Vancouverites on the weekends. That being said, might be good to plan your rest days on the weekend, depending on the weather
  13. Any extra calories used to make up for the work to power something or carry the weight will have to be made up when the hiker returns anyways. The energy required to make that food may be more than the energy gained by carrying the thing up there. I say just get a generator and hire a bum to turn the crank. It would be a better use of the time. This act of trying to create energy from manpower might actually be worse for the environment as it contributes more to entropy and the heat death of the Universe. Do you really want to be responsible for destroying the universe? I think not
  14. From what I've seen so far this Spring of the trails, they are really beat up from the winds this Winter. I've never seen them so bad in the last 25 years. It's going to take a lot of work.
  15. If it were me, I'd paddle up Ross Lake(if the roads were closed from Hope). Ross Lake isn't too high(1600 feet), so the trail into Hozomeen Lake shouldn't be too much of a snow slog most times of the year. Just my $0.02. Last time I was there, there we naked German girls swimming in that lake. If you see them, tell them Bill seit, "Guten Tag!"
  16. Peshastin shitty? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
  17. Castle Hill is nice. I could live there ...so nice. I stayed at the hostel on the pass just west of there for 5 days. There are a lot of easy scrambles there if you are alone.
  18. I like Erie. It is best when you know where to go. So don't get discouraged if you spend a time or too just figuring that out. Powerline Wall is nice. Basically harder on left easier as you go right. Zig Zag is fun too.
  19. We should ban WAR because it is too dangerous.
  20. I called all the gear shops around and no one is carrying Scarpa Freney XT's !!!!!!! Only online shops have them in. Anyone know any secrets?
  21. Right on! Nice Pictures!
  22. Found someone. Thanks for reading.
  23. My partner went MIA. I'm thinking Pyramid, Eldorado or Sefrit. Even Squamish would make me happy. Let's throw our crap in the truck and head out! I live in Bellingham.
