  1. Just look in the mirror catturd and you'll see a first class fucking idiot. Fucking maggot I am just overwhelmed by the power of your logic sisu. I was serious about the idiot test. I was thinking along the lines of this.
  2. Karl Rove doesn't hold an office, even an appointed one. He is basically an employee of Bush's. He is a political advisor.
  3. There is an ugly scar running straight up the hill from the Sunrise parking lot that I wondered about. It is too steep to have been created by hikers. A tow rope for skiing might have done it, but I was told there never was such a thing at Sunset. Motorcycles might well have made such a scar had they been allowed. Anyone know?.
  4. It remains a fact that SOMEONE leaked the information. It was probably Karl "we're going to FUCK him" Rove's idea. No, we probably will never find out who made the calls, but it tells us something about the stripe of this administration that its high level members would stoop so low.

    Dwayner Now!

Dwayner is a study in contrasts. At his best, he is the Best (with the possible exception of Uncle_Tricky). At his worst, he ruins people's serious threads with his tired old assault on bolts. I'd kind of like to have him back, but only if he promises to not talk about bolts unless the thread is specifically about bolting.
  6. This little article was tucked away on the sixth page of the Seattle Times section A. To summarize, two high level members of the Bush Administration leaked the identity of a CIA operative at least six Washington area journalists. Intelligence sources said top officials at the agency were very concerned about the disclosure because it could allow foreign intelligence services to track some of her fomer contacts and lead to the exposure of agents. The woman, is married to former Ambassador Joseph Wilson IV who was sent to Nigeria to determine whether Iraq had sought to purchase "yellow cake" Uranium there. He later criticized the Administration which eventually retracted the statements Bush used in his State of the Union message. An Administration official said the leaks were "simply for revenge" for the trouble Wilson had caused Bush. Let's call a spade a spade. This is treason, plain and simple. This is huge.
  7. My, how the times they are a changin'.
  8. Arf! (Iceguy supplies dog gremlin here)
  9. Buy him a Sonicare.
  10. Get your equivalency through Seattle Branch, then take the Intermediate Course through Everett Branch. In Everett you can organize and lead your own Intermediate Climbs after three experience climbs. One must be rock and one ice. Then you can do the climbs you want to do. It's harder to become a leader in Seattle. If you don't care about collecting a graduation certificate, or the club climbs, just go to all the lectures and field trips and blow off the experience climbs.
  11. On the centerline under the knee cap. It is quite sharp and localized.
  12. I agree with both of you.
  13. Sisu, give me one example of an idiot test. Rules tests can and do filter out some of the idiots. So just for kicks, how would you design an "idiot test"?
  14. Can't keep a "good man" down. Somehow that doesn't sound right. How about "prolific sprayer".
  15. I'll agree with this when we have a hard and firm test to ban idiots from autos, jet skis, boats of all types, skis, snow boards, sex for procreation, flying their own air plane, bow and arrows, knives, forks, hand saws, screw drivers, power tools of all kinds, open flames, explosives, etc., etc. We have tests for auto and plane licenses, but not for any of the others.
  16. Judging from the replies this is likely to bring, I suggest moving this to Spray.
  17. It is interesting that it hurts only goind DOWN stairs, but not at all going up.
  18. Let's ban idiots from getting guns. That will be the day.
  19. I'm going to see a doctor.

    Murphy's Law

My definition of the word "patriot". Someone who acts selflessly to protect ones country. The word "acts" is what is in dispute. Which actions are in best interest of one's country? Sometimes it is being critical of what the government is doing.
  21. I was climbing some alpine ice and my crampon popped out while pulling a bulge. I struck my right knee. It hurt, but I shook it off and kept climbing, because I had no choice really. The pain went away, or at least I didn't notice it, on the way out to the trailhead. Four or five days later after two runs of two and four miles, the knee started hurting again. It is painful going down stairs. The pain has been there for four days now. It is to the point where I'll take the elevator if given a choice. Should I go see the doctor?
  22. Muffy, don't say, "I am quitting". Rather say, "I have quit".
  23. Were there any witnesses? Gosh, I hope not.
  24. No climbing involved, but rather spent a nice weekend helping the rangers plan native plants at what once was a parking lot and what will again become an alpine meadow. All that work planting made me very aware where I was stepping lest it be on a fragile plant. I would cringe every time I would see a hiker stray off the trail.
