  1. On the centerline under the knee cap. It is quite sharp and localized.
  2. I agree with both of you.
  3. Sisu, give me one example of an idiot test. Rules tests can and do filter out some of the idiots. So just for kicks, how would you design an "idiot test"?
  4. Can't keep a "good man" down. Somehow that doesn't sound right. How about "prolific sprayer".
  5. I'll agree with this when we have a hard and firm test to ban idiots from autos, jet skis, boats of all types, skis, snow boards, sex for procreation, flying their own air plane, bow and arrows, knives, forks, hand saws, screw drivers, power tools of all kinds, open flames, explosives, etc., etc. We have tests for auto and plane licenses, but not for any of the others.
  6. Judging from the replies this is likely to bring, I suggest moving this to Spray.
  7. It is interesting that it hurts only goind DOWN stairs, but not at all going up.
  8. Let's ban idiots from getting guns. That will be the day.
  9. I'm going to see a doctor.

    Murphy's Law

My definition of the word "patriot". Someone who acts selflessly to protect ones country. The word "acts" is what is in dispute. Which actions are in best interest of one's country? Sometimes it is being critical of what the government is doing.
  11. I was climbing some alpine ice and my crampon popped out while pulling a bulge. I struck my right knee. It hurt, but I shook it off and kept climbing, because I had no choice really. The pain went away, or at least I didn't notice it, on the way out to the trailhead. Four or five days later after two runs of two and four miles, the knee started hurting again. It is painful going down stairs. The pain has been there for four days now. It is to the point where I'll take the elevator if given a choice. Should I go see the doctor?
  12. Muffy, don't say, "I am quitting". Rather say, "I have quit".
  13. Were there any witnesses? Gosh, I hope not.
  14. No climbing involved, but rather spent a nice weekend helping the rangers plan native plants at what once was a parking lot and what will again become an alpine meadow. All that work planting made me very aware where I was stepping lest it be on a fragile plant. I would cringe every time I would see a hiker stray off the trail.
  15. Eventually everyone will be like Baron Harkonen with antigravity suits to float their grotesque, bloated, fat bodies. Kudos to anyone who can come up with a pic of the Baron (alas, I tried and failed).
  16. In the news today, several new sattelites have been discovered orbiting your anus, I mean Uranus.
  17. I'd bet Roseanna Roseannadanna would have had something to say on this topic.
  18. I suppose you could bivy there. It isn't completely flat, but I suppose it is flat enough. You'd have to melt snow for water, but there are small ponds of meltwater a short walk along a ledge on the SE Face. It only takes 30 minutes from there to the flat slabs below the summit block where you could also bivy. It takes 5 hours from QC TH to Pt. 5779 if you take the valley, or 6 hours if you take the ridge from Curry Gap. I estimate it takes 4-5 hours to climb from Pt. 5779 via the NE Ridge to the Yellow Shoulder. It takes 3-4 hours to get to Blanca Lake via the Columbia Glacier and about 3 hours to hike from the North side to the TH.
  19. Did you graduate from "colledge"?

    Dark Ages

I think the important issue is not just whether the banter is obnoxious, but WHERE it is posted. The Spray forum has a very high tolerance level for obnoxiousness. That tolerance falls off somewhat in Climbers forum and then to its very lowest level in Route Reports. Although Trask, Sphinx, and Dru can be obnoxious at times, I have observed that they are (usually) more careful what they do outside of Spray forum.
  21. I have downclimbed it before. It has some fourth class sections and you have to go on snow/ice in places, so bring your crampons. From Pt. 5779 decend to the saddle where the pond is located. Drop down onto the glacier and skirt around a headland (lots of rocks lying on the snow below, so go fast). Once around climb back up rock and snow to another saddle and from there get on the ridge. I think that the Upper Pride ice route is better than the NE Ridge, though.
  22. I'm throwing my can of Bud and you can't stop me. I hope you don't waste any of that precious fluid and rather just throw the can.
  23. Go now. This weekend.

    G-spotter

I'd be willing to bet that 95% of sprayers would have to look in a dictionary to know what an "incubus" is.
