Actually it's what galvanized hardware is coated in. That too corrodes very quickly.

I've just posted a thread in the freshiezone about the Ortovox M2 recall, and related avalanche beacon / battery issues... go read it if you care to.

Slack battery manufacturing standards may be a killer. Apparently several beacons on the market have battery compartments that allow batteries that are "in spec" but on the small side to shift to a position where the terminals are no longer contacting, and bingo - no working beacon anymore. Ortovox has just issued a recall on all of their M2 beacons to address this problem. Read about it in this thread. BCA has also acknowledged that it is an issue with some of the Trackers. Be careful out there this winter...

I have heard that one actually, and if I bailed off a route, I wouldn't expect to see any of the gear I left ever again. OTOH, I would be happy if somebody decided to return it. The one time I went to get booty that the loser had told me bout, he just told me to keep it. That's why I have a #4 Camalot. Oh yeah, I knew the guy.

The proper swager is signifigantly less than $100. I can't remember where I got mine though.

so to go back with the mouse in Opera I would have to hold control, then click, and where would my left button be... I would just press "Z" at that point... Is 2 buttons really so confusing? Couldn't you always use a 2 button mouse from another maker anyways?
