  1. I really appreciate any efforts made to keep the permits free and the after-hours thing is great, too.
  2. I won this at a raffle last year. I'll never need a $1500 watch. I just put it on craigslist.com, but maybe some professional type here would be interested. $600 OBO I have the case, the manual, and all the warranty stuff. Water resistant to 300 m! 206.371.0245
  3. I particularly like this part of that discussion:
  4. Yes, I love BC. Now could you tell the pretty bitch in immigration to quit impeding my entrance because of an eight-year-old public intoxication charge, please?
  5. I'm pretty much a derelict barfly for Thursday nights at Dante's, but I may forego this week because of plans to ski on Friday. Friday night somewhere to brag about the day's faceshots?
  6. WaPass ain't in the park, dude.
  7. Permits are free in NCNP for another year or something. Oh, look - they want to raise fees to get into OlyNP! http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/outdoors/2003921103_parkfee03m.html
  8. I've clipped a full 0.6L Sigg bottle to my harness many times without any problems. Dunno anything about cleaning, though.
  9. I descended the Mowich Face in July - Dan's report here: http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=7568.0 Definitely lots of glacier ice right now. Could make for an interesting climb. What could you possibly want to know from some desk-jockeys? Just go do it.
  10. SCHWING. Glad a potentially bad situation ended well. That North Couloir hasn't accepted any suitors these last couple years... maybe she demands the extra commitment of the one-day push? Another attempt from '06: http://www.splitboard.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=2516&highlight=&sid=fc187f28fa1ae314f8a768a12b9be526
  11. The bindings lodged into the snow with ski bases skyward keeps the ski in place during changeovers just as well as brakes. Leashes are good if you think you're likely to beater, until your skis return to brain you. I'll probably pay for my wanton ways one of these days... most likely downclimbing some big, beautiful route with the most perfect conditions I've ever seen because my ski couldn't wait for me. I wish they'd make a binding with the longer pins and base of the Comfort but everything else like the Classic. That's what I really want.
  12. I find that both brakes and leashes suck. I use neither.
  13. Sacrosanct. My thirst is quenched, but my budget is not.
  14. $98.64: Now that would be something! $ -> ยข
  15. Lots of money shots - how about some mood lighting?
  16. Bump for a couple of hilariass paragraphs. Did they have guns? Gotta love bureaucrats with guns.
  17. It was cold up there. I was glad to have my zero-degree bag. Here's one more climbing pic 'cuz I like it.
  18. I'm surprised Dru didn't correct this. I'm the one who conjured 1800 ft, so apologies to Ryan for the quibble, but I don't think the face could be more than 1000 ft. But it's all good. Here's a picture of Ryan skiing the face. Jason is at the top. Josh is at the bergschrund. My tracks on looker's left, Dan's on looker's right. Click it for a big version.
  19. Very good! Six wrongs don't make a left.
  20. That area has huge potential. Too bad boat plus bus is two days out of the schedule no matter how you slice it. Or maybe that's a good thing?
  21. Alpinism is the one true path. Escalate your eschatology.
