This thread is so much fun! Eric has never belayed a sport climber working a route before....you've got some learning to do! PS, I've been climbing or skiing every weekend since school started! 2 things first climbing in the gym doesn't count and second if i go hiking in the rain can i call it skiing too.

i was trying to get him to make me one but he wouldn't feel special if others had one too i guess so that was a no go. Oh well time to go climbing (insert lame chestbeat icon here)

I like to make fun of cracked because he "works" sport routes by climbing up to a bolt clipping it hanging on it, then climbing to the next one, cliping it etc etc. Then raving about how sweet the moves yeah sounds like fun man. Or for spraying on the internet then telling me he has homework to do and can't go climbing on the weekend. Hey Dave I have a question. ak makes a good point. Although your going to be better at whatever you do more of. As in sport routes tend to be face climbs. While trad routes tend to follow cracks, corners, chimneys, etc. as far as sport or gym climbing being the basis for trad I don't beleive that because i took 3 falls on a 5.9 in the gym the other day(I suck) but I'm comfortable leading that grade on gear. So it is really just what you practice and what your good at.

Valdez all the parking lots, pull outs and what not have no camping signs, even the church. So we drove a little bit out of town and the only place we could find was this little pull out right off the highway. Finally got to sleep despite the traffic. about 2am i wake up to someone standing over me and shining a 3ft maglite in my face. Its the popo. My friend does all the talking while I'm being blinded. After about ten minutes he leaves us alone. I didn't sleep much the rest of that night. Oh Jordonp do you now anyone from this site who lives in pdx. You could drive to pdx bivi then finish up the next day. I know its a little farther north then you wanted, but hey there my idea.

okay i hope i don't get flamed for this but here my top 3 1: Going on a climbing rode trip where i didn't climbed shit but made some good friends and saw some cool areas 2: The time Gary and I spent at index this summer. 3: convincing my sporto friend to buy a rack without ever telling him to buy one.

I don't know about that Jens. I have had a couple good days of climbing at index where there been scatter showers. Josh I would head up near eldorado. Maybe even take skis head over to kwatti (sorry i can't spell) check out that couloir on eldo. Or if you really want to suffer go to imperfect impasse.

isn't the best training for climbing actually climbing. So why do something thats less effective and less fun.
