Kiwi are you talking about in winter or summer? It will be snow covered in winter, check snow stability. In summer it is like class 2, an annoying scree fest.
yeah, but better Clark than Dean. Dean is like the democratic version of Bush. "I want to be the candiate for guys with confederate flags on the back of there trucks" wtf is that shit about.
Most of the routes were dry. We took a few laps on toxic and tried to tr that arete. Then went over to gns were my buddy got his second lead in . and did libra.
I'll second the UW rock. This time of year your more likely to get on the UW rock over real rock unless its east. Figure you have a 5/7 chance of it not raining on a weekday and a 2/7 for a weekend.
I'm heading down there over xmas break. Am I ignorant to think I'm going to climb anything in black velvet canyon this time of year? When I read highs in 40 that seems like perfect climbing wether to me or is it much colder than that in the shade?
MattP Beckey route isn't 5.6. That was my first climb until then I had just done some 4th class scrambling and honestly thought that it wasn't harder then anything I hadn't climbed before.
For Sandbags I'm going with zoom 10b at index and I couldn't even get off the ground.
As anyone been to source lake or that general area with in the last few days? Trying to figure out if floatation is required.
