Why'd they Pho'Shop the rope out but not the harness? Or is the resolution just shitty and you can't see the cord? Good shot, though. That's a very unusual angle. Looks like it was taken from the top of the Phoenix (the toilet, not the buttress).

Fuck around with heroin, you're bound to hit bottom hard sooner or later.

Do the bromelain; you won't be disappointed. 1,000 GDU, 2x/day (between meals). Tendonitis definitely feeds on itself; the more inflammation you get, the more your tendons are abrading against surrounding tissues, causing more inflammation, etc. It's a vicious cycle, and some kind of anti-inf's will help arrest that. If it's work-related, maybe you can get put on a different task for awhile? You've got a union job, right? They should be good with that (at least they were at UPS).

Hey! You an' the DFA got almost identical fizeeks! 'cept DFA's more like 165-170. And, strange as it may seem for a doctor, the Doc doesn't know his body fat percentage. The more you weigh, the more you gotta haul to the chains!

"Now with seratonin gone ... (EEEYYYYAAAAUUUUUGGGHHHHH!)"

Cat what gets ate by birds, you're a crude and repellent creature. Go wash your brain out with lye, and don't come back 'til you've learned to talk nice.

Cure, schmure! Try some Small Brown Bike or Alkaline Trio! Rage against and plot to kill the object of your lovesickness, respectively. "I wish you would take my radio to bathe with you plugged in and ready to fall"

Skip that "focus on nothing" Yoda shit and focus on something. Your footwork, body position, and breathing are a great start. Edit: Like jopa said, focus on nothing!

Fejas; in your quote there, it's "one bullet, one empty head", not whatchoo got. Fat Mike would be outraged! "Meet the decline ..."

Your stab at ir'ny has earned you a piping hot haiku enema

Not too sure you're going to find a new tube receiver but if you want to go without the radio section both Creek and Musical Fidelity both make good, affordable tube integrated amps for modest power needs. You can also post to the newsgroups listed under rec.audio Isn't MF's cheapest tubed integrated the A308cr? Isn't that rig pushing $3k? The A3.2 integrated is about $1300, but it's solid state. Bitching amp, though. Hey, what about the Unison Research Unico? That's got the ever popular tubed input/solid state output combo, and all the reviewers seem to love that. Someone in the SeaWA area might carry that. Atoll and Cairn seem popular with tube lovers too, despite being solid state (and also very modestly powered); they are both supposed to be good bets in the ca. $1k price range.

Eh? What are you talking about, Willis? You're speaking a little too cryptically, there.

Fool, you got absolutely no idea who Dr. Flash Amazing is. You, on the other hand, are a pretty easy target in that puffy red jacket!

When's the Dr. Flash Amazing signature line coming out? Especially the "DFA gave me the beta for Chain Reaction and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" T-shirts? Fuckin' A, gotta generate some royalties here!

Scratch that.

Eh? No, DFA's not actually using it. Just read the article. Sounded like a good program, though, if you want to build some burl without resorting to the evil campus board. Seems like cyclical is the way to do it, though, from the article. Actually, it seems like most training routines are best done cyclically if you're gonna get maximum benefit. Seems like that was Yaniro's big thing, and they push that approach in all the 'Train Like A MoFo and Send the Big Numbers' books. Whatever you do, it better work. You're gonna need to be fit to send those upper pitches on the 5-Easy, not to mention for the marathon belay sessions while DFA dogs the rig into submission.

Bitchin'! Glad to know there's some other folks out there who care about their music!

So, do you have a pre-amp for your other source(s) also? Or were you running the phono pre into an integrated amp or receiver? If need an integrated so you can run line-level sources in (i.e. CD, cassette), check out NAD. NAD has really natural-sounding gear, and you can get a pretty beefy amp for the low end of what you're looking to spend. You might also be able to get into a low-end Arcam amp such as the A75 plus for around 8 or 9 hundred. Marantz would be another solid bet (DFA has the PM 7000, Marantz's only integrated, which is plenty powerful, nicely built, clean aesthetics, and runs around 3 or 4 hundred). Rotel is probably another safe bet, although DFA has never heard any of their stuff. If you can find a used Creek 5350SE, you could be stoked (it's about 1300 or so new, and is supposed to rule over amps costing much more). Of course, your local hi-fi store might not carry any of that, so you really should head down and listen to what they have and find out what might pair well with your existing components (maybe you can find an amp that's the same brand as your current phono pre-amp?). Try http://www.stereophile.com , http://www.stereotimes.com , or http://www.6moons.com for reviews, all of which have extensive online archives of gear in most any price range.

Distel has it right; sport climbing is lots of fun. Trad is for old folks!

Pineapple users -- what yer gettin' out of the stuff is Bromelain, as mentioned by Mr. Catbird. Bromelain's an enzyme that, when taken with food, helps you digest things (much like the papaya enzymes they sell for the same purpose). Taken about 30 min. before a meal or at least 2 hrs. after, though, and the enzymes go to work on inflammation and scar tissue. Catbird's got it sorta wrong, at least according to studies that've been done on the Brom', which indicate that unlike most enzymes, it CAN make it through your stomach, and get absorbed thru the small intestine, and thus gets circulated all over the place. It's also been shown to help you uptake glucosamine, which is an added bonus (in fact, it has been shown to increase blood concentration of a lot of different drugs, and you should exercise caution or talk to your doc if you're taking anything else. And on that note, it should absolutely NOT be taken in conjunction with any NSAIDS, as that can cause stomach bleeding, which is bad). Check out http://www.pdrhealth.com/index.html for more information (use the "search" function). Bottom line is the stuff works great, and unlike most NSAIDS, it doesn't screw up the healing process. DFA's been on it a few times, and is quite happy with it. Best to read up on it to get all the info on how it works and why so you can make an informed choice on which kind to buy, as it's not super obvious otherwise. As for the tennis elbow brace, by all means use it! The Doctor went through a bout with the TE a few years ago (in both elbows), and found the brace, along with some anti-inflammatories, to be very helpful. Do some pushups or other triceps exercises, too, as this is supposed to help balance out the way the tendon in question is getting pulled on, and should help to minimize recurrences in the long run.

Funny you should mention the Snib' Tow'. While you should know that it wasn't Dr. Flash Amazing, how could you have guessed that DFA might know who the chosstronauts in question were?
