  4. I was looking for a way to get those bball and football rankings in there, bury them in other education stats...works everytime. Besides, I don't even know which nursery school the young lad attends...wherever the headstart bus stops I guess. BTW Iain, you're hiring for a position. Both candidates are equally matched in every way, same GPA, same experience, hell they're even physical twins with the same outside interests....except one went to Dumbfuck U and one was edumacated at MIT....who you gonna hire....umm yeah. I got a job in OR once in large part because the board had 4 of 8 members who had done either their undergrad or grad work at GT. Where'd you got to school Iain? Macalester College. Liberal arts bastion of the midwest. Alma mater of such wussy peaceniks like Kofi Annan and Walter Mondale Kofi likes to down 'em at O'Gara's bar down the street was there to greet me as a freshman, and at graduation. They gave me a good deal. For sports they suck, but my soccer team was ranked 4th in the nation in NCAA div. III when I was on it. thump thump thump thump thump

  14. no kidding. I'm heading up for a night session at Riley's death star in t-minus 2 hours, can't wait for the weekend.
  15. I would take a solid day to get in to SE ridge of middle, depending on how deep the snow is. If it is deep it can be tough just to get into BT. Pole Creek would probably be the best choice for entrance, but the chambers lakes area is a lot of work to get into in winter. I'm not sure how far Pole Creek Rd is snowed in yet, but it can be a haul to get to the TH. Seems like there are similar runs for less work, but it would be fun to get in there. You would have the place to yourself. You can ski the whole bowl on Tumalo. It just depends how far you want to have to ski out, since you are skiing away from the road as you descend. Or you can cut skier's left and ski the trees, which can be very good. This puts you down on the flats. Watch out for the 'bilers. Be careful with the bowl too. The entire bowl has cut loose just below the cornice before and destroyed all the trees down at the bottom.

  17. snoboy I hear you it's so hard to tell these prepubescent dudes apart
  18. Broken Top is sick. You can make it as steep as you like. I recommend "crater bowl" which climbs up the east crater wall. The ridge to the summit is a rime/corniced nightmare. Great ski. Middle Sister is good. Plenty of options there. Hell, any of the sisters have sweet lines and they are obvious when you get there. Pick one and go. Early Morning Couloir/Villard G. area tends to slide a lot and is windloaded, but sweet in the spring. Jeff Park Glacier if you're in for a few days. Park Butte too. Hood- S. Side is a winter classic. I recommend the mazama chute. Wy'East is usually a better choice later in the year. The circumnavigation is a sweet tour too. Oh yeah and there's that little pile of dirt south of Broken Top too. But that's for the geeks. But Tumalo Butte is a fun short day, too close to keep the boarders away though.
  19. something like that. I have no idea where I heard that but it has stuck in my brain for all time are 's just substituting periods now?
  20. that's weak
  21. where they on logan just a few years ago? I think I might know who you are talking about, since a friend of mine brought a pair of these up on a rescue on the summit of Hood last Jan and they were bomber. I think these were the ones but not quite sure.

  23. that democratic debate the other night did not inspire me to vote for one of those candidates. but really, if a goat got up and started bleating from the podium I would vote for it over GWB.
