  1. yeah there are some weird quirks with Safari. that tab thing is annoying. esp. if the the form on the website hasn't been coded thoughtfully. As for the security stuff, I don't know. I've never had an issue and I do almost all my shopping online and manage all my bills that way, so I'm using secure connects all the time, no probs.
  2. I don't pay for computers. Worse purchase than a new car. I just make sure I work the connections. That said I would still cough up the dough for a Mac. They're just that cool these days.
  3. DOUBLE DRAGON
  4. guy #1: I could have never beat Contra if I hadn't used the Konami Code! guy #2: You pussy!
  5. HELL YEAH I'VE STILL GOT THE KONAMI CODE WIRED IN MUSCLE MEMORY. Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right B, A, Start Contra was impossible w/o at least like 999 guys
  6. HELL YEAH. SAFARI DROPS AN H-BOMB ON YOUR COLLECTIVE MICROSOFT ASSES.
  7. with arcteryx being bought out, who knows where the stuff is made. probably farm out the work to the prisoners on the moon colony. as for patagonia, they have my business for great clothes and fairly responsible practices. And the gave Meadows the finger when Meadows bitched about them supporting Free Cooper Spur.
  8. I have a pair of Patagonia Nitros (a thicker version of the triolets, I think). Too glove-like to be really warm in deep cold, too mitten-like to be functional for placing pro, unzipping your pack, etc. A great ski glove though. At some point I say screw it and wear mitts, pulling my hands out to fiddle with things, leaving the mitts resting in the tool leash. I seem to get really cold hands otherwise.

    bored of spraying?

it would be difficult to be jealous of someone driving around in a troop transport in rush hour traffic, often seen trying to parallel park. Perplexed? yes. Jealous? not really.

too bad it's often some house wife out to get some goodies from the organic foods shop.

guy looks like E.T. if you ask me.
  12. I bet this could be #1 on the list of reasons for avalanche accidents.
  13. you are so f'ing tough and cool I am at a loss for words
  14. You could have the common decency of keeping the line narrow and spooning other tracks to preserve some of the goodness though. Esp. if you are staying at a hut, common courtesy. I'm not saying super tight, but no boarder-style massive traverse swathes across a pristine slope.
  15. Yeah, but Parker's book has some good advice for parallel technique, even if he is focused on freeheel. Yes there is a ton of stuff in there, but what I do is select one or two things and really focus on them each time I go out. Seems like a lot of skiing is go with what feels good, and too many tips on the brain can lead to overanalysis and subsequently terrible skiing little things like lifting your outside arm on jump turns and skiing from the waist up really helped me awhile back.
  16. I had a pair of their gloves that were just awful. Fell apart in weeks!
  17. Thanks for the tip. I'm jealous of my friends who have racing backgrounds as kids, they always have incredible form. I've never had a lesson in my life so I know I must have some miserable technique. Tough backcountry snow is where those bad habits really get magnified. It gets me down stuff, but I know it is keeping me from leaving "good" and becoming "great" I've found Paul Parker's Freeheel Techniques book to be helpful (it has a lot of advice for parallel technique too), but all the bad stuff is in muscle memory now.
  18. I wash out my turns all the time. I find doing the "knee-to-boot" chaser game really helps focusing on setting an edge. As does skiing on one ski (this is a lot of fun when you are tired from a day of skiing, just chose a blue run and do laps on one ski - can be hard!)
  19. is that the one with the vibram sole? is that even made anymore? saw it once in the metolius shop in bend, haven't seen it since. edit: maybe I am thinking of the "mega dru"
