C'mon Rob, don't hold back, tell us what you really think! The Bishop who excommunicated her was probably just worrying about the future supply of young boys for up and coming Catholic clergymen.

I think the conversation between Perry & the folks doing the cleaning rather directly resulted in this thread here: Cleaning Advisory. Seems like a step in the right direction. I could imagine a little yellow crime scene type tape and a note being another worthy precaution.

Ahh, that story can't be true, ol' Yvon's practically a dwarf, more likely the jacket would be too big.

[TR] Goose Egg Mtn - Dirty Sanchez 5/30/2010
Off_White replied to sobo's topic in Central/Eastern Washington
Given the role Sobo would play in your own survival later on, it's an especially good thing he turned around. Goose Egg is cool, but it's a real bucket of cold water for anyone who things its a sport crag... -
Grades and Differences Erie vs Frenchmans
Off_White replied to Pilchuck71's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
Amen to that! I'm just back from a week in the Valley, wearing my "In Tow" tee shirt and following my buddy up a raft of 5.10 crack climbs in the lower Merced Canyon, and that stuff is hard. For me anyway... -
It's on Arch Rock, in the lower Merced canyon at Yosemite NP.

Gripper, last Monday. Take note, that is not the proper beta for turning the corner into the finger crack...

Sorry to be off topic. Wish I knew how to program this forum so the theme from Days Of Our Lives would play when anyone opened it. Maybe I can get Porter to handle that...

Cleaning Advisory: Caramba Terrace Sun May 30
Off_White replied to chris_stolz's topic in Climber's Board
Yeah, what Rat & Bill said, great blog. -
I spawned this off as it's own thread and edited the title to differentiate it from Don Gonthier's thread. Feel free to change the title if anyone thinks of something better.

Cherry picked as in whoa, you found an example! It's a myth that illegal immigrants are the cause of a crime wave in this country, but that doesn't mean they don't commit crimes, some of which are really horrible, as is the case with the incident you've held up as an example. As j_b has substantiated, immigrants are actually less likely offenders than the indigenous population. I'm not saying that illegal immigration from Mexico is not a problem that needs to be addressed, I'm saying that this law in Arizona will do next to nothing to change that. You've got to change the demand rather than try to stifle the supply. If there were no jobs here for illegal immigrants, the flow would reduce to a trickle. As long as they can find work here that provides an economic opportunity they can't find at home they will come, despite the myriad of hardships and impediments, including increased police harassment. Trying to stifle the supply has worked so well for the War On Drugs, eh?

http://articles.sfgate.com/2008-07-20/news/17173999_1_immigration-status-el-salvador-illegal-immigrant Slaying suspect once found sanctuary in S.F. Years before he was accused of killing a man and his two sons, Edwin Ramos was a teen criminal shielded by city from deportation July 20, 2008|By Jaxon Van Derbeken, Chronicle Staff Writer The man charged with killing a father and two sons on a San Francisco street last month was one of the youths who benefited from the city's long-standing practice of shielding illegal immigrant juveniles who committed felonies from possible deportation, The Chronicle has learned. Edwin Ramos, now 21, is being held on three counts of murder in the June 22 deaths of Tony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16. They were shot near their home in the Excelsior district when Tony Bologna, driving home from a family picnic, briefly blocked the gunman's car from completing a left turn down a narrow street, police say. For fuck's sake Fairweather, I wasn't saying that it doesn't happen, I'm saying that in my personal experience sample rape is a much larger issue than firearms assault by illegal immigrants, and your cherry picked citation makes me conclude that as usual, you can't cope with concept when your position is factually indefensible. Your, you're, yeah, way to refute content Professor.

Or the bouldering area...

Arizona has some pretty good climbing.

Under this law, if you're a legal immigrant and you're caught without your papers in your possession you get 6 months in jail and a $2500 fine. How exactly is that about curbing illegal immigration? The AZ law will have almost no effect on immigration, its all about keeping those folks in their place. Arizona wants their illegal immigrants to work cheap and not be seen, to provide convenience and not be inconvenient.

I was asleep in my bed in Olympia, though the day before I'd have had a ringside seat on the NF of Hood. Olympia only ever got a slight dusting of ash, prevailing winds don't come from St Helen's way. I had friends cresting the Willis Wall that morning, they couldn't see the peak but the apocalyptic cloud was pretty freaky.

large cliffs SE of Cle Elum, and carnival crack
Off_White replied to markwebster's topic in Climber's Board
You must be unfamiliar with that route in the film, or think that Carnival Crack is really a sandbagged 12b. -
Hmmm, is this the white streak? Yes, new continuous hard lines are scant, its a pretty small crag and been active for over 20 years now. Check out the corner between that 11b buttress & The Entertainer, down on the left end. We'd need some access through the chossy band or you'll have to do the overhanging start to The Entertainer with the somewhat sketchy hold.

Nice use of graphics Tamara

Well, for starters, the rock in your full res image has paint on it... Cool looking stuff though.

Pooter turns 40, whoddathunkit? I remember 40, ahh, to be young again.

Read a review in the Willamette Week yesterday. Sounds like its not disgusting enough by half, and is full of hack horror movie cliches. If you really want to explore the subject, Dru's got the 411 for you.

Aww fuck, you guys are off topic! I miss that stuff too, c'mon summer.
