  1. I for one am just shocked that anyone would suggest The Quitter is a liar! Shame on you for endorsing the invasion of this reality tv personality's privacy. Any verifiable pictures of Bristol from this time period?
  2. That's a nice little film, I liked the Pixiesque soundtrack too. I've been missing that mountain range lately, hoping to spend a little time there this August.
  3. for Viktor and this information.
  4. You left out Doug Scott on the Ogre and Martin Boysen stuck in that crack on the Trango Tower. Most of those guys were in a situation where they couldn't hope for much even with a SPOT. Between the issue of time and local rescue resources, folks far afield are pretty much on their own, plus or minus others who might be in the area. Places like Alaska & the Alps are different, with rescue resources and trained personnel readily available. Not to mention Mt Hood...
  5. We all got it coming, kid.
  6. I confess, I was hoping this was about Renton. Frankazoid, post up some pics of Fee Demo please!
  7. Sounds to me like PD wants to punish the person he knows for requesting a rescue by keeping their gear. That Dingus Milktoast said it right when he declared it wasn't about ethics, it was a question of character.
  8. I dunno Rob, I'd always heard the Republicans were like a forest of 40' long penises: sometimes it seems like there's just no end to those pricks.
  9. I have a light goretex shell FF, I don't recall the model, bought it about 15 or 20 years ago. The fact that I sometimes refer to it as "my precioussss" might tell you something about my satisfaction level.
  10. Yeah, and I read Reason, go figure. Reading widely is good for your brain.
  11. Historically, any primary battle with an incumbent president for the party's nomination always results in the other party taking the white house. Always.
  12. Have you taken to 3 martini lunches Jay? I can't hardly understand what you're on about here. The Rev. Terry Jones is not a warrior in the cause of personal freedom, he's just another cheap attention whore in a Tabloid Nation.
  13. You'll have to provide a link, I'm unsure who you're talking about. In case you missed my drift, as Dru so accurately twigged within moments of my proclamation, this was indeed an April Fool's post.
  14. Maybe the fact that I had posted no TR's in March cued me in to the fact Jon's announcement was a joke.
  15. Well, clearly you should visit fewer websites and you wouldn't have that problem. "Amber" is an inside joke for those with longer history here, I'm sure Dru wasn't taken in by any silly protest that I meant business.
  16. *sigh* Seeing as how it's a gray and rainy April 2nd, I can now rescind this policy. Fuck.
  17. I think if you're really really worried about marker on your ropes you should probably stock up on Potassium Iodide too just to be safe.
  18. I'm dead serious Amber, you watch your step.
  19. 11:21 pm, way to work at it right up to the deadline! Words can't express how happy this flood of TR's makes me, best of luck in the raffle...
  20. The mods and administrators have agreed things have just gone too far, so we've established a new policy that gratuitous insults and profanity in ANY forum, including Spray, are grounds for banning. Each poster, regardless of the number of avatars (yes, we know who you are) will receive only one warning, in case you've missed this new Policy Statute Declaration. It's time this board grew up. Thank you for your compliance.
  21. I appreciate that Pope was able to say the same thing as Raindawg in a much more civil manner. I gotta give a big thumbs down for Dawg's inflammatory and lame attempt at putdown humor, the antithesis to rational discussion. Pope, you should think of sport climbing as a bridge sport to take gym climbers outside, and set them up for more adventurous climbing in their future. An environmental approach to outdoor recreation is a learned behavior, and any number of classes can lead the uninitiated in that direction, even a Mountaineer's sport climbing class.
  22. Bassomatic is actually kind of slabby, it wouldn't be a nice clean drop into the water, more of a cheese grater tumble. Nice pic of it though, seems like he's just getting up to the crux. I have much too much imagination to solo much of anything anyway, I like having a rope on.
  23. That Sumner story is something, what a missed opportunity for the Mountaineers.
  24. Sorry pookie, no slight intended.
  25. I'm thinking this would be a pretty good show, she's been everywhere in the Cascades. Fay Pullen's a NW mountaineering icon to anyone who's paying attention.
