Oooh, Mr. Chirp, tell us the story of Pope in the land of sport routes with bolt on holds! You're right about the gates locked behind you though, same thing happened to me on T-giving weekend at the area above Skookumchuck Lake.
-
Duh, so you can get two quarters back for the peep show.

Buck up little camper!

March is usually too early for Rappel Rock, which is up around 9000' If all you've got is an afternoon, your best bet is to head to Chimney Rock. Chimney has a stellar selection of one and two pitch routes in the 5.8 to 5.11 range. I recommend (from left to right): Mistaken Identity 5.9: great wandery gear protected face and discontinuous crack climbing. bring small tricams Centerpiece: 5.10-: more of the same, with crux bulge at the top. Jungle Gym 5.10+: fun if you're feeling burly, rap at the end of p1. Shriveled Penis 5.11: Thin crack, worth doing just for name, but climbing is good. 2nd pitch is good 5.9 crack FIUTT 5.9 or 5.10: Name is acronym for "fuck it use the tree" and the route is 5.10 if you don't. Brilliant stemming, stay in the corner. 2 pitches. Stripper 5.8: Fun moderate, same start as FIUTT Crows Nest 5.10-: Splendid leaning corner, use a long rope and runners to string it into a single pitch. If I were going to do only one pitch there, this might be it. A little higher up the mountain Windy Point offers tons of options, but you'll spend more time in the brush getting oriented in the profusion of fins, while Chimney is a single very short approach. Oh, be aware that none of these are sport climbs.

MisterE's got a good point, if you'll look closely, you'll see that the goat has two pupils in the single eyeball. I think it was stillborn though, or at least died within the hour, and was likely brain damaged to boot. We're gonna have somewhere between four and six goats born at my place this spring, I'm banking on two eyes a piece.

Careful, word on the street is that the Doc has developed his mojo ninja martial arts skills, you might get a can of something else.

From Snopes: Happens to goats, related to false hellebore ingestion during gestation.

Bill Coe said: Wow, that's awesome, his woodcuts are amazing. I really like that medium. The Dalis are cool too no doubt, but painters get too much attention already.

I traded some PM's with Rudy, urging him to keep it to a finite number of threads, but I concurred with him on the seriousness of the issue, and our conversation was not the slightest bit adversarial. He suggested I delete one of his threads, but I moved it to spray instead. Rudy also told me he'd be taking an extended leave from this place, and while he didn't elaborate on why, given the day's spray I think it had more to do with his irritation with a number of other people here rather than anything from other mods, but I don't know for sure. I do know he hasn't been banned. He's a good guy, I look forward to his return. I think the weather has really made everyone a wee bit cranky of late.

He probably deleted it because there's already a flourescent pig thread somewhere..

You've got to input your birthday in your information. One of those Nodder related avatars, FasterThanYou I think, always changes their birthday to the current day, so "it" always gets the cake.

It's wet, like really wet, like everything else. On the plus side, the creek out front is flooding to beat the band, swallowing up the front field. Makes me wish it would rain harder, I love going flood gawking. Anyone in the Oly area should do the Tumwater Falls trail, cool short urban loop along the raging Deschutes with a bridge right over the falls on the front of the beer can. Happy beedays Will & E

Huh, that's funny, you look older than that
