I traded some PM's with Rudy, urging him to keep it to a finite number of threads, but I concurred with him on the seriousness of the issue, and our conversation was not the slightest bit adversarial. He suggested I delete one of his threads, but I moved it to spray instead. Rudy also told me he'd be taking an extended leave from this place, and while he didn't elaborate on why, given the day's spray I think it had more to do with his irritation with a number of other people here rather than anything from other mods, but I don't know for sure. I do know he hasn't been banned. He's a good guy, I look forward to his return. I think the weather has really made everyone a wee bit cranky of late.

He probably deleted it because there's already a flourescent pig thread somewhere..

You've got to input your birthday in your information. One of those Nodder related avatars, FasterThanYou I think, always changes their birthday to the current day, so "it" always gets the cake.

It's wet, like really wet, like everything else. On the plus side, the creek out front is flooding to beat the band, swallowing up the front field. Makes me wish it would rain harder, I love going flood gawking. Anyone in the Oly area should do the Tumwater Falls trail, cool short urban loop along the raging Deschutes with a bridge right over the falls on the front of the beer can. Happy beedays Will & E

Huh, that's funny, you look older than that

When your pork product starts to turn green, it's best to cook it a little bit longer than you otherwise might.

You all be nice or it's the monkey pit for the lot of ya.

technically speaking, he passed 30000 a long time ago, not even counting his motley array of puppets.

I never knew that Homer Simpson was based on a real human being

A friend of mine just pulled the stupid mid-pitch bolted belay on Beeline, the lovely fingercrack on the Entrance Dome. The station was added by Ben Burnham awhile back to facilitate half-rope rappels on this two pitch route, and marred the middle of the crux section. The station was widely reviled, and I'm surprised it took so long for someone to disappear that sucker.

That's actually the perfect suggestion Bronco, neither of those look like much, do they?

Why did I think this was going to be another Gary Yngve thread?

He didn't get Preying Mantis either. Hah, I fooled an advertising tool.

[TR] Mt. Athabasca/ Andromeda- 12/26/2005
Off_White replied to fear_and_greed's topic in British Columbia/Canada
You guys are so harsh. He was already in Calgary, so it's not like he drove for a long time to get there, and it seems he had a reasonable adventure. -
Well, I think it's too bad Fairweather has decided to stop posting. He and I don't have but a handful of things we agree on, but I always read his posts, and have enjoyed any TR's he's contributed. I don't think it's accurate to say that Gotterdamerung, Caveman, or Dwayner have had their names drug through the mud. Aside from periodic calls for Dwayner's reinstatement, they don't come up in conversation much. If there's some significant agenda going on here, I must not have gotten the memo. The only one I'm aware of is wanting to increase the numbers of TR's from folks climbing things across the spectrum, and that seems to have been ocurring over the last year. I've also wanted to see some thoughtful discussion of ethics and style, and while I think we've seen some of that over the last year, I know others may not agree with my interpretation of events.

So Sobo, surely you've watched Star Wreck: In the Pirkinnning? Downloadable Finnish tongue in cheek fan film, hour and 40 minutes long complete with space battles and all the stuff? I really liked Captain Pirk's entry scene with the toilet paper stuck to his nifty boot.

AK, you're probably one of those twisted types who likes to crush kittens....

You were never banned at all, I think you just forgot your password or some such nonsense. Nice flannel dude.

Nope, gas power is gonna weigh more. If you want to drill on the lead, go for battery power on a waist belt. If you're just gonna do the whack and dangle tango, anything goes. Scott's got a good point about the hot muffler issue, but running out of juice in the battery really sucks too. The battery is dead on my cordless, so at the end of the season on my crag in the front yard we resorted to dragging the generator over and running the corded hilti. The big bonus was it also ran the small compressor: 120 psi and a blow gun do a great job of not only cleaning out the holes but blowing the dust off all the holds too. Of course, you're not gonna pack that rig into whatever projects you've got up your sleeve.

You should talk to my cousin Alice.
