  1. Ahh that was TWO cars ago! The petrol ibibing Sherman tank that I bought when I sold that Tercel moped decided it would rather take its own life than live through another Mad Max trip up the Hurley So I bought a RAV4 which is basically like putting the Tercel engine into a truck, and it has NO low range I am continually impressed with the parking and stop-and-go abilities of this thing
  2. Yeah, whatever, you have NO idea what hubris is casue you haven't BEEN there
  3. I bet it was Kevin Costner and his band of aquatic vigilantes who rescued them.
  4. The Go! Team
  5. More importantly, with the increasing rate of tilt recorded in the photos is the thing now overhanging?

    Weekend Thread

Went to the dump This huge garbage truck pulled up right beside us and tipped about 500 tonnes of decomposed produce and fish guts onto the floor of the place, causing this tidal wave of shit all over everyone. Pretty cool
  7. Please post a "Berdinka Cathedral" photo showing all known routes, belay stations, ratings, burger stands and strip clubs
  8. The road is currently gated, likely only on weekends, but this only adds ~30mins if you got a bike. Likely still snowfree right now if you wanted to nab it before things shut down. A frontal view of the peak, which I called "Mt. Ichor" in the CAJ. RED is "Back of Beyond", BLUE is "Brambles, Buttress, Sky" which Mike and I added last year.
  9. Very nice though I stand by my earlier estimation of those notches as vomitous. Glad YOU did it From Paris to Milan, word is 5.9+ is the new 10dX At what point on the traverse did you UNCAGE THE SOUL?
  10. I read a report somehwere on doglotion.com last year about some guys trying to ski it. They didn't make it but the TR made it sound as if it had been done previously . . . Sorry, don't have the time to look it up on that site.
  11. I am somehow glad it was the Chossington Pass Cuthroatmeal thing and not the other thing Nice job boys How many stashes were made
  12. Not Whitecap, but some autumn ice info: *Wedge area couloirs were almost completely melted out by the first week of August. New snow then freeze seems necessary. *Joffre Central Couloir looked wonderful on Monday as seen from Hurley Silver Mine area. Not thin at all. I'll try to post a photo . . .
  13. Armchair gear critics rejoice, MEC has come thru on some gear sore spots for the Fall: *4* new hooded soft shells/hybrids AND a line of technical packs featuring a 30L 400g mini Aladdin for $49!!!! They look good, sucks I won't be able to evaluate performance for a while since there are about 4 people who would kick my ass if I bought another hoody or pack
  14. PMS has a Grivel genie equivalent deal. New MEC Superlite 30 for $49 is where it is at, though a bit heavier than Genie. Lowe Mountain Attack 30 Hyperlite is a good but $$ GEnie improvement.
  15. There is a secret gucci sale in the desert every year where everything is 75% off . . . If you knew about it you'd be on your way right now
  16. Use Your Illusions
  17. Mt Albert at head of jervis Inlet, qv. Published photo in some 1930s CAJ
  18. In case anyone cares, I still haven't climbed a better route anywhere. I think Mike agrees. Utterly bizarre experience to meet Mike for the first time, check out some middle-of-nowhere hint of granite on a whim, and then make the first ascent of the cleanest and most consistent crack climbing we have ever done, all within 90 minutes from a 2wd road. Good times dude The name comes from the Moab bookstore, a pretty cool place as well
  19. Wicked storm Mike said to tell you he found your tent in Nabob Pass. Did you lose one
  20. North Face Zeus was 24 pitches 5.9 TD according to Audrey's notebook. SWBC guidebook author currently encamped for east face of QB. Guess word got out about the disappearing serac
  21. And mossy as hell, or do you not have that CAJ photo Stuff in background is also visible in fronticepiece photo in Baldwin. Nicer looking.

    Boxes for moving

I have 300 on my floor right now. Drive to Canader and they're yours. Seriously, someone should create some internet moving box hookup service for this shit. Took like three months of booze barn trips to collect enough boxes
