    Hey Dru

North Ridge of Baron Spire. I would be very interested in hearing about ANY info on this climb. The photo in the Lopez does not make it look as steep as Howser but the topo is HUGE.

This should be dry by now . . .
  3. I think the following image, taken from http://www.uncagethesoul.com/ neatly sums up what Mr Layton loves so much about CO
  4. 31/27 mpg city/highway A 98 4-cyl 4Runner gets the same gas mileage as this car, for a third the cost. Yeah, 4 cyl 4 runners are the shanzz when new, but the older the engine, the less compression (mine at least) -- the is very little power to lose on these things, my 1990 isn't strong enough to fully load up with 4 people and gear and still go anywhere on the highway . . . maybe the 3rd generation 4cyl engine has more power Though I do get 2x the mileage as my buddy's V8
  5. It is for now, but a large commercial property on Dollarton Highway in North Vancouver has a sign stating "Future Home of Arc'Teryx". Paul's gonna be losin a lot of money commuting past that thing every day. It'll be like someone building a Duff Brewery between Homer Simpson's house and the nuclear power plant
  6. Cool photo of downclimbing:
  7. Admit it, your list sucks ass too, hoser This was nowhere near the top of the list, it was just the only thing that looked like it was going to stay dry on Sunday Too bad I can't upload the video I took of Steve blowing the shit out of the Downton FSR with the dynamite. It's damn funny
  8. Ohh yeah, this one was REAL nice! Stemalot and I climbed a spur on the north face of Soprano Peak, which I'm sure everyone is familar with. See the feature in last month's issue of Beth and Tommy. It's as good as they say! Surpisingly, the first few hundred feet were good But then it got into a beautiful dirt chute, reminiscent of countless such ones I have ascended all across the PNW: Full-on 5 out of 5 shoe-emptyings on this pitch Classic! We were so enthralled with the route that we decided to blow up a small part of the area as thanks with some dynamite Stemalot had gotten ahold of somehow

  11. The there are those people who ski How much time do you spend skiing on your head or in neck deep powder anyhow (rhetorical) ppfff you don't have enough Canada West ski courses or Patagonia hooded soft shells to be engaging in an argument about skiing in shitstorms

  14. This thread seems to have lost some valuable beta on meatons and hairstyles. Without it I doubt the approach would even go
  15. Skiing and ice climbing below zero, no hat is gonna keep the shit outta yer face or down yer neck, and keep warmth in, &c., &c., &c. Manufacturers who DO NOT make hooded sofshells are missing the ONLY real application for them
