  1. Ha, that's a good one. Here is another one. I was out walking my kids this week on a rare clear winter day. I stopped and pointed out glacier peak to my 2 1/2 year old and tell him to look at that Mt. with all the snow on it. He say's "yeah daddy climb that Mountain with a rope and then fall down".
  2. Cadbury all the way, the ones with the nuts and raisins.
  3. Not sure if this will help but interesting reading the denali training schedule anyhow. http://www.alpineascents.com/training.asp
  4. Ooops you forgot one, to climb at the coulee you have to pay the fish and wildlife comittee parking pass.
  5. Here is a link to the enemy's website which can allso be used to CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE!! If you read part of there website there are some statements that call what they do "a sport" hmmm I am not sure that being so useless and lazy should be called a sport. http://capwiz.com/stickers/?dir=share&lvl=C&azip=98026&x=5&y=12
  6. Cpt. Caveman thanks for the picture and info. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and true in this case. I was a bit confused with the talk of crampons etc... as I had only seen the picture with the binding. Now It makes sense and I like the part that they are the lightest and can be broken down. I think I may get a pair. As you know the ones I have now are great for flat terrain and powder snow. Yeah right, just where can that be found in the cascades haha, except maybe the forest service roads. Also have been checking 0ut those DMM ice tools and seem fair enough price. Thanks again
  7. Wondering if anyone has these and are they worth buying? Thanx. http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT<>prd_id=482941&bmUID=1041191465151
  8. Yes I have to agree, My feet go numb in my rock shoes to at this time of year. Then last weekend I jumped over my leathers to my plastics to climb with cavey. Bad mistake, as he is brutal on the approach and my feet were soaked and still drying out. So I guess the ? is what the hell is the right footwear at this time of year?
  9. I got rock climbing in WA state guidebook, I guess so I don't get over my head. But the kicker is my wife said "There is so much stuff at that store get whatever it is you need"
  10. Never heard of that one. Is it a climber's guide?
  11. I would be up for that climb on colonial. But no ice tools yet. Hopefully next week I might get a set who knows. Damn things are pricey.
  12. Great informative sight bronco. Thank's. Not so sure about the "no down" approach though. Unfortunately that is all I have but has served me well so far without any problems.
  13. Ray, that would be cool. jeez they actually have a guide book for that area? I thought it was just wine, Mt. Tam and that fancy green stuff. And to think I always harrass her on why would anyone want to live there.
  14. Good subject, any beta in the north bay would be good. Does Santa Rosa count? My sister lives that way and I am usually bored stiff when I go to visit.
  15. Here is that avvie link http://www.nwac.noaa.gov/
  16. Tread tramp, How did you like the pic's? Can you picture that ridge now after a couple feet of fresh snow! I believe we got the last trip up before the snow hit the fan.
  17. Okay, is anyone definately in for the climb? PM me. looks like the weather will hold through Sunday.
  18. Yupp, looks like with all this great info bikes are the way to go. I had to take a 2nd look at the approach and if that gate is closed the walk would eat up the daylight. I have a rack that will take 2 bikes.
  19. Hmmm, I was just going by the beckey guide and seems pretty easy as there is a map in there etc... No bike needed by the looks. May have to do some scouting around but seems the ridgeline breaks out fairly quickly. May have to park at the gate and walk the road a piece but no biggy.
  20. Just willing for an early start, and be able to climb fairly fast and light. Thinking of west ridge ascent of North. Did the tooth last Sunday and if the weather is anything like that the views and climb will be cool.
  21. Heading into this general area on sunday for climbing. Looking for partners. Weather looks good so far. Give a shout if anyone is interested.
  22. Wanting to get up there (MEC) for some cheap gear. Anyone know how to get there and want to split the petro some weekend?

    Projects for 2003

I am looking to do the top 25 Washington peaks in 2003. All weekend climbs. Looking now to put together a climbing calender. Anyone interested give a shout. Will need a couple good people for a rope team, and should be a blast.
  24. Yup I can vouch that salt sucks as well. They use many tons of it in New Hampshire and your vehicle doesn't stand a chance. BUT, as usual the politicians get a win win situation. Smaller budget they win, give themselves a bigger raise next year to buy a new vehicle as there car will rust as well they win again.
