  2. Ya. The small pics are just a tease. Great job.
  3. I placed an online order for a Yates Haul Pack with Hermit's Hut Tuesday afternoon and had it shipped UPS ground. I picked them because they had the lowest price. It arrived this morning.
  4. If you girth hitch or slip knot the biner to the end of the daisy, then it can't rip out. Also, use the rope as the primary line to the anchor for belaying, not a daisy. Now you know the rest of the story.
  5. Probably better than those skis do.
  6. This is marketing bullshit. Explain how this is going to change the way we climb?
  7. Use a Sharpie to mark the rope into thirds.
  8. Northern Mountain Supply called and said they wanted their Wild Country Helium biners back. The excuse was that there was a bad batch of 50 biners that made it out into the market. If I send then my biners, they'll give me my money back. Bad biner. Baaaaadddd biner.
  9. What, why would anybody monitor who is climbing with Neutrinos. Al-Quida connection.
  10. The authors of FOTH are responsible for maintaining summit registers on many peaks in WA. When filled, they are sent to the state archives. I was up on Maude a couple weeks ago. I didn't find a register, but found a shard of PVC pipe. Others on this forum have detailed a fondness for destroying or hucking summit registers.

  12. An inch is a measure of length. A cubic inch is a measure of volume (a cube one inch on each side). A liter is already a measure of volume (a cube 10 cm on each side). So what the heck is a cubic liter? - Amuricun Tom
  13. My experience has been pretty hit-or-miss. Sometimes they get it right, othertimes they need to pull their heads out of their asses.
  14. The Stekekin Valley road is washed out at mp 9.5 anyway. "No National Park Service shuttle service due to road damage: The Stehekin Valley Road from High Bridge to Glory, where the National Park Service usually provides shuttle service in the summer, was severely damaged and will not be available for use in 2004. Therefore, there will be no shuttle service above High Bridge. At this writing (May 11) the Stehekin River continues to occupy a stretch of the Stehekin Valley Road a half mile above the Stehekin River Ranch. The National Park Service anticipates that a private permittee will again provide bus service from Stehekin Landing 9.5 miles to this point. The Bullion Loop Trail and the Old Wagon Road Trail (Pacific Crest Trail) provides hikers and horseback riders with a route around a significant portion of the damaged road. (Bicyclists may use the Bullion Loop Trail to bypass the flooded road section as far as Bullion Camp, where they can rejoin the road. Please note that all other trails in the North Cascades National Park Service Complex are closed to bicycles as well as to motorized vehicles.)"
  15. When you are an aid climber, you must learn to stand tall in the saddle. I like to say, "It always looks better from the next step up." - Dr. Piton
