I use a Minolta XGM SLR I use Fuji Provia 100 for color slide, and whatever for B&W. I use a 28mm-80mm lens with a macro feature. I use a polarizing filter in good light, but a regular skylight filter in low light, so that I don't have to push the film. When I shoot BW I use a yellow filter to improve contrast.

I shoot 35mm slides or B&W prints. The digital technology available today cannot match the resolution available from slides. If I want a digital image, use a slide scanner.

I was hiking Goat Peak, across from the N. face of Shuksan, on Saturday, and let me tell you, there was not much snow at all. You'd have to do some scrambling from the saddle at the base of the face to get onto the ice below the face. The scramble you'd be above some cliff bands, which could be exciting. There was also a spot higher on the face where there was no snow at all. Have fun!!
