  1. How much over the limit did you blow when they took your license away?
  2. Expect thin and early season. High elevation and north facing seems like your best bet as south facing stuff is getting hammered by the sun. I might be wrong but I don't think there's been much of an inversion going on. I'm gonna go take a look at Sumallo this afternoon. Rambles might be in as I heard Carl's Berg was forming up on Wednesday and Rambles are shadier. Other early formers that are worth checking out are Isodorth & Belmore (there's a new zip line access across the river to these), North Joffre, Falls Lake cirque, Zeppelin on the Darkside, Once in a Red Moon, Night N Gale, Husume Buttress, Oregon Jack, Phair Creek and stuff like that. It might also be a good weekend to try for something a little bit more alpine like Ghost Passenger or Zero Gully. You can drive pretty high, and below 2000 m there isn't much avvy hazard. But approaching may suck as I've heard there is lots of breakable crust around.
  3. Arctic outbreak is forecasted starting middle of next week, should be climbable ice after 3-5 days. Model certainty only moderate at this time though.
  4. If you can swap the bails over, the straps should come with.
  5. Why not use PDF Maps?
  6. Seen in a Facebook discussion "Who is this Jesse James guy and has anyone curbstomped him yet?"
  7. it's so you can hang your socks up to dry. no trench foot.
  8. Steven J. Harper Memorial Landfill
  9. With dimensions of 6' x 7' x 4.5', you might be able to squeeze one or two moves out with a sit start. If you were a midget that is.
  10. Yes, you are wrong. dry = less groundwater flow too
  11. The average El Nino winter sucks balls for ice climbing in the PNW except for high elevation alpine ice.
  12. get an adjustable fifi.

Say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos!
  18. LOTS of fresh snow. like over a foot. more coming avoid avalanche zones http://acmg.ca/mcr/archives.asp
  19. Given the fresh snow up there now, and the downgraded weekend forecast, might be optimistic to think it would be dry by Sunday afternoon.
  20. Tends to be wetter in the mornings and drier in the afternoons because it faces south. Then as it cools down overnight more moisture seeps out. If you're fast enough climbers, start climbing around 2 PM on Sunday and top out by 5 or so. Should be dry then. Starting climbing at 8 AM Sunday, it will be wet until 1:30 or so if it stops raining Friday and is sunny Saturday.

Like Col. Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains?
  25. The minerals in rhyolitic or andesitic volcanic rock are the same as in granite and gneiss, just smaller crystals. As opposed to calcite (makes up limestone), which is much softer and does not come out of volcanoes. It's dead corals and seafloor ooze. Swing at limestone hard, seat your pick. Swing at granite hard, bend your pick.
