Just talked to the crew in Talkeetna a couple of hours ago. Erden, Squid and Chris_W are starting the approach tomorrow morning. They'll head down the Petersville road and travel down Cache Creek to the toe of the Kahiltna Glacier where they'll hang a right and head north. We plan on meeting them at basecamp on the tenth of May. Please send the good mojo their way.

Give the Fifth Season a call in Shasta City - they'd know for sure. I picked up the new guide when I drove through last summer, but I dunno where it went - but I know it's back in print.

I got 'em when they first came out about 5 years ago (Super 9 Guides), and they've gotten pretty floppy and comfortable. They suck frontpointing now, but I can hike miles in them without too much trouble. They're the perfect boots for most of the bigger stuff around here that doesn't require a lot of fifth class climbing.

Hmmm.. Maybe they spent so much on a slow machine that they are embarressed to complain about it! Hmmm...if I remember right, the G3's were classified as a supercomputer and weren't allowed to be exported to China. Yeah...that's pretty slow

Thursday next week (May 8th). We're giving those characters ten days to walk-in, then we're meeting them at KIA.

I like keeping my skis waxed and tuned so they're more predictable when I ski them, whether it's in the backcountry or in-bounds.

I used to have a job where meetings and appointments were scheduled online and put right into my Outlook calendar. For awhile I tried maintaining an old fashioned Day Planner and keeping it synched with my calendar at work, but after double booking myself for the umpteenth time I got a Palm Pilot and only kept one calendar for everything. Made life tons easier.
