Yes they sample only the finest vintages of epo like true gentlemen Okay...apart from that...
  3. The bioelectric impedence machines have great test-retest consistency, however they won't be as accurate as a water-displacement tests (the most accurate measure) and tend to read lower. Body fat calipers are only as good as the person administering the test, but can be quite accurate. The advantage to body calipers is you get raw data from 6 different sites, which you can refer back to at a later date and see where your body tends to lose fat first.
  4. Easiest and cheapest way: go to The Sharper Image and find the Tanita Body Fat monitor off the wall.

Props to Tyler and Jan for waiting for him to get back on his bike. Pro cycling is one of the few remaining places to find sportsmanship and professionalism.
  6. I hope he/she is okay.
  7. I dunno...who don't you just take a snowmobile all the way up? It's all good right? As long as you're having fun...that's all that matters, right?

  10. Thanks for the post Kelly. FWIW I think the avalanche debris and bushwacking add flavor to the climbs in Boston Basin. There doesn't need to be a cushy, "handicap access" trail hacked and chopped out wherever people climb.
  11. Toptimmy - you're a tool RBW - I was just answering YP's question with my opinion on what I think a 'peak bagger' is. I don't give a shit what braumeister does and how he climbs...that's his deal - his response to Fejas cracked me up, though. You guys want to get up in arms about this, feel free. I just happen to think the style of the ascent is more important than the summit.
  12. IMHO it moves away from mountaineering when the importance of standing atop a mountain supercedes the experience of getting there. Some people claim summits so they can check it off a list and brag to the girls at the bar. Some people climb for the experience and the reward of the journey.
  13. "Peak Bagger" : someone who climbs something just so they can check it off the list and say they did it. The style of the ascent doesn't matter.
  14. Hey Fruitboots, this is cascadeCLIMBERS.com, not cascadeposerstakingacathalfwayupthemountain.com You're really going to beat your chest about taking the cat up, then complain you missed the chairlift ride down - then start talk smack?
  15. That's a lot of miles for the price. I might keep looking.
  16. Just cuz he's charged doesn't mean he did it.
  17. You know what 'nana' is slang for nowadays don't you? I guess it does fit in nicely with this thread... BTW: it's not about the shaving...it's about the hydration
  18. Locals hassling tourists isn't anything new, nor does it only happen in Squamish. However 30 on 3 is bullshit and cowardly. Canadians are a bunch of pot smoking pussies Oh yeah...and they have weak beer.
  19. for your friend for you. My condolensces.
  20. You're the man if you can score the Cinema Display
  21. so...umm...where did you clip those bootie biners?
  22. Are you kidding me? Canadian beer is the same as the same as having sex in a canoe...they're both fucking close to water.

    ouch

They'll be penelized if they gained an advantage from the action. From the Velonews site : "Four-time champion Lance Armstrong avoided being fined or punished for his dramatic detour through a field to avoid crashing into fallen rival Joseba Beloki near the end of the Tour de France ninth stage Monday. A race jury determined that Armstrong was deemed not to have benefited from his impromptu change of direction. "Beloki's fall led Armstrong to take evasive action, leading him into a field which he left without gaining any advantage on the group of riders he had been with," said an organizers' statement. "
